The Earth is composed of layers including an outer crust made of sial, an inner crust made of sima, a mantle, a liquid outer core made of magma and lava, and a solid inner core. The crust varies in thickness from 2 to 90 kilometers while the outer core is around 2,250 kilometers thick and the inner core is approximately 1,230 kilometers thick.
