 Quality of addressing is an key factor to
achieve high automation rates (by data entry
and automatic coding);
 But also the quality of the address database of

 Netherlands: Address quality of secondary
numbers is poor. Use redundant addressee
information to uplift sequence performance by
0,3%.
 Netherlands: Large shippers are to validate
their addresses before shipment via an online
service. Validation errors will be rejected or
alternative will be given.

7. Better addressing: the benefits I see
 Reduction manual handling in the sorting
operations, i.e. higher automation rates;
 Improving quality of delivery by reducing
sorting or sequencing error;
 Enabling smarter solutions such as route-planning,
delivery round sequencing;
