3. SEPIA
• Comman name: Cuttle Fish
• Prover: Hahnemann
• Family: Mallusca

4. Introduction
• Popularly known as the “Washer Woman’s remedy”.
• Sepia is one of the greatest contributions to homoeopathy by master
Hahnemann.

5. Spheres of action
• Sepia acts of female genital organs
• Gastrointestinan tract
• Liver and portal system
• Skin and nervous system

6. Consttitution
• Make-up the body: Weak persons with yellow, earthy complexion,
discolouration and desquamation, yellowishness of face and
conjunctiva ”tell tale face” to indicate the internal derangement, with
male type of pelvis in women.
• Temperament: Nervous temperament
• Relation with heat and cold: Very chilly patient
• Miasam: Anti-psoric and Anti-sycotic

7. Guiding symptoms
• Lack of vital heat, especially in chronic diseases.
• Weakness and bearing down sensation.
• Ball like sensation in inner part of the body.
• All gone feeling in the stomach relieved by eating.
• General relaxation ,weak faint, empty feeling while kneeling at
church.
• Urticaria on going in open air and better in warmth.
• Flushes of heat and perspiration.

• She cannot narrate her symptoms without weeping.
• She is anxious and fearful, flushes of heat over the face and head.
• She cannot bear tobacco in any form.
• She is very greedy and miserly, absent minded, memory is very weak.

10. Particulars
• Head: There is violent pressive headache in terrible shocks at
menstrual nisus.
• Stomach: Feeling of emptiness, all gone sensation in the pit of
stomach relieved by eating.
• Rectum and stool: There is bleeding at stool and fulness of rectum.
Sensation of ball in the rectum.
• Urine: In the urine sand may be present.

11. Female Genital organs
• Menses: All kinds of menstrual irregularities are found.
• Leucorrhoea: Yellowish, greenish with much itching before menses.
• Pregnancy: Morning sickness during pregnancy.
• Prolapse: Prolapse of uterus.
• Skin: Itching of skin at various parts.
• Respiratory symptoms: There is dry hacking cough, especially in the
evening.
