Basic Steps
How To Play
Poker
Texas Hold’em is one of the easiest poker games to
play, but the hardest to master. It’s played by absolute
beginners and the professionals who have made their
living from the game. And you will see many poker
lover setting the game as their career option.
The game’s unique blend of strategy, psychology,
random chance and number crunching has
successfully attracted a huge audience. Poker from a
normal game has now turned into a passion.
Want to try your hands on poker tables, but
confused where to start from? Don’t worry, we are
here with the easy steps that will help you last
longer in the online poker game. If you're interested
in learning how to play poker yourself, you’ve come
to the right place. We are here with the ultimate
start-up guide and poker strategy for Texas Holdem
poker.
Without further delay, let’s pin you with the
important steps to rule the poker games online.
1.
The First step suggested is bring a deck
of cards and mug up the ranking of the
Texas hold’em poker game.
 Royal Flush (All the same suit, sequence A-K-Q-J-T)
 Straight Flush (Any sequence all the same suit, for instance 9-8-7-6-5)
 Four of a Kind (Four cards that are the same value, for instance A-A-A-A)
 Full House (Three of a kind AND a pair)
 Flush (All the same suit)
 Straight (A basic sequence such as 6-5-4-3-2)
 Three of a kind (Three cards that are the same value such as 5-5-5)
 Two-pair (Two pairs, such as 9-9 AND 5-5)
 Pair (Any pair whether it’s A-A or 2-2)
 High Card (Whatever your highest card is)
2.
Then familiar yourself with the poker
terminologies
 Ante - the first, usually small, the amount of money put up in a game,
all players must put it up if they wish to be dealt in.
 Fold - to get out of a hand. You just throw your cards away, and
that's it. You can do this at any point in the game.
 Check - Not always possible, but if it is, and you don't have a good
hand, you can get by another round for free (you don't have to bet)
 Call - if someone bets, you can say call to put up the same amount
as him and go to the next round.
 Raise - If someone bets an amount, and you think you have an
outstanding hand, you can put up as much as he did, and then some.
 Capped betting - This means you can't bet anymore, you can only
call. This happens after about 4 raises, or when the limit is met.
 Bluff - This is when a player doesn't have a very good hand, but bets
like crazy so it seems like he does.
3.
The last step is to understand the action
within the play:
 Everyone antes up.
 The dealer will deal two cards face down called hole cards,
starting with the first player on his left, and going in a clockwise
motion.
 Everyone looks at their cards, and based on what kind of final
hand the player thinks he can make out of them, he can either call,
bet, raise, or fold.
 The dealer will now "burn" the top card of the deck, which
means he takes and sets it aside. After he burns the top card, he
will flip first three "community cards" which is called lay down the
"flop" round.
 Then the players are supposed to use these community
cards with their hole cards to create the best possible hand (5
cards total). After the flop has been flipped, betting will start
again, this time from the small blind and ends at dealer if
everyone checks, else always ends on the player to the
immediate right of the player who raised this round.
 Dealer burns another card, and then the dealer lays down
one card, called the turn. Another round of betting is followed.
Dealer burns another card, lays the down the last and final card.
It is called the River.
 Last round of betting is followed, then you flip over your
cards. Whoever has the best hand (best 5 card combination out
of the total 7 cards), takes the pot!
I hope the above mentioned guidelines
help you build the stacks.
Good Luck!
