5. Paul Kaplan Press Release Sample "CHAIWAY RIDERS" (CHICAGO) MAKES THEIR DEBUTCHICAGO, [insert date] -- A year ago we said it wouldn't happen. It started with 3 three Jewish bikers -- whoeach thought there were no other Jewish bikers in Chicago -- meeting for the first time to discuss riding together to Washington, DC for the first Ride to Remember 2005. We each thought there were no other Jewish bikers in Chicago. Actually we were surprised to hear learn that there were enough Jewish bikers in America to have an organized motorcycle ride to commemorate Yom Hashoa. We went, we rode, we saw, we made new friends, and decided that we're not alone. Now, 1 a year later we havenamed ourselves "The Chaiway Riders" and have officially become Chicago's first Jewish motorcycle club and named ourselves "The Chaiway Riders". You can learn more about us at www.chaiwayriders.com. Put out the word;, let your motorcycle-riding friends know that we're here and say: BruchimHabaim. We are now planning our second annual memorial ride, called "Paper Clip Ride to Remember 2006," which that will come togethertake place on May 5, 2006. We will be part ofjoin as many as 500 Jewish bikers from Australia, America, and Canada Canada which are part-- members of the Jewish Motorcyclists Alliance,-- who arewho are riding to Whitwell, Tennessee to visit theirtown’s memorial in memory ofto the six million who perished in the Holocaust. The documentary,“Paper Clips”, will be viewed at the school as part of this ride. Whitwell, TN is a town of 1,600 tucked away in a Tennessee Valley. The principal of The Whitwell Middle School, Linda Hooper, notes that "our community is white, Christian and very fundamentalist." The students number 495, including six blacks and one Hispanic. There are no Asians, Catholics and certainly no Jews. In 1998, the students of the Whitwell Middle Sschool began to studying the Holocaust as a means way to learn about intolerance and cultural diversity. In an effort to understand the enormity of the genocide of six million Jews, they decided to collect six million paper clips. This endeavor evolved into a permanent Holocaust Memorial on the school's premises,.As well, and the study of the Holocaust became part of the school's curriculum. We want to give back something to the school and show that we applaud the value of their endeavor. Linda Hooper has told the JMA that the school would like to purchase Promethean Boards, so we've decided to help. The "Paper Clip Ride to Remember 2006" is our way to of recognizeing the remarkable mitzvah that the school has created in this era of anti-semitism and Holocaust denial -- in a most unlikely town. .
