4. So why make a class webpage?
oEver tried to set your class to work on a webpage only to be frustrated by
misspelt web addresses or students getting lost?
oHelp students find the resources you want them to without getting into
dangerous web places
oSimple point and click access to web pages you select with friendly picture icons
instead of text (Prep – 1)
oCreate thematic units (e.g. minibeasts) on separate pages and organise all your
favourite websites in the one place.
5. So why make a class webpage?
o Showcase students work with ease
oA communication tool for parents – upcoming events,
class requirements etc.
6. Getting Started
oWe are going to use a free web creation tool called
Weebly
oNo programming or complex computer skills required.

o While in Elelmets Tab and writing text
oLocate the formatting toolbar
oFeatures are similar to MS Word
oUse the + and – buttons to resize text
oYou can hyperlink to another website by
highlighting text, clicking the link button
and pasting in a Website.
oTo change fonts …

oClick the Design Tab
oClick Design Options
oThe fonts are able to be changed for elements of your site.
oE.g. Paragraph text is your normal writing
16. Add Some Pages
oClick the Pages Tab
oClick
o Name it
o Save it
oIt now appears on your web page’s menu
17. Time to Publish!
o When you have completed your site or have enough to go on
the Internet it is time to publish to the world.
oYou can chose to password protect your site so that only your
school community has access.
oDo you have parent permission to publish students photos?
oIs your spelling and grammar ok?
oIf everything is ok click Publish
18. Time to Publish
oChoose a website domain (a web address for students and parents
to go to)
oUsing a subdomain of Weebly means a free page!
oNew domains can make it easier for people to remember your
site. (About $40 a year)

• Go to your internet browser
• Go to Settings
• Internet Options
• Set default page as your weebly page
