HDE’s 3D laser scanner is
a portable powerhouse
of possibilities, available
for our clients to utilise
across all facets of
industry.
From dimensional
inspections of equipment to
area surveys, from reverse
engineering to wear
analysis, the potential of
3D laser scanning in the
mining and heavy

HDE owns and operates a
state-of-the-art Leica P30
3D laser scanner and has
the latest software to
analyse the “point clouds”
it creates.
The Leica P30 uses line of
sight laser to digitally
capture the shape of any
physical object at one
million laser measurement
points per second.
Leica P30 point clouds are
unsurpassed for their detail
and accuracy and can
create an exact 3D
computer model of
any object.
3D scanning is especially
useful for measuring and
inspecting contoured
surfaces and complex
geometries that are
otherwise impractical to
measure.
The Leica P30 has a 130-
metre radius scanning
range that can be
indefinitely expanded by
coupling scans together.

Scanning inside pits and sumps can be completed easily using the inverted tripod.
The tripod allows you to lower the scanner up to 4m below base level.
