The solution
Storing solar or waste energy in an efficient manner is vital for reducing our dependency of fossil fuels
and CO2 emission. Storing renewable energy is key to this because space heating requirements and avail‐
ability of renewable or waste energy hardly ever match.

The process
The Xsorb process is installed in the ventilation system within the building. Air, normally expelled when
properly ventilating, is used to activate the Energy Store. Combined with a regular heat exchanger, you
get fresh outside air at indoor temperature coming into your building.

Charging the energy store
The Xsorb energy store can be charged using solar energy. This creates a complete self‐supporting sys‐
tem. This requires a volume for the energy store of approx. 1 m3
per 50m3
of living space. Alternatively,
the material inside the Xsorb Energy Store can be charged externally, for instance by using bio‐fuel or
waste energy from industrial processes. This eliminates the need for substantial storage volumes while
still saving significant energy and CO2 emissions.
Advantages
The Xsorb energy store is a static storage facility that lasts for at least 30 years. Maintenance require‐
ments are kept to a minimum because surrounding the Xsorb Energy Store are only standard low impact
components like heat exchangers and an air pump.
