5. What is the difference between Magnetic and Media Filtration?
Conventional filters, are supplied to a set filtration level, If the media is 20
micron it will stop particulates greater than this size from passing.
Smaller Particulates will pass through causing damage to your components,
fluids and your machine.
Finer Filters can be purchased, however fine filters will block quicker, needing to
be replaced and can affect the additives in the fluid.

6. What is the difference between Magnetic and Media Filtration?
Magnetic Filtration
Unlike conventional filters, Magnetic Filtration is not particle size sensitive; if the
particle is ferrous, no matter how small (even sub micron) one of the
Eclipse Magnetics range of filters will remove it.
This process will not strip the oil of additives but will help to subdue bacterial
growth.

• The lack of resistance to flow maintains high flow rates and removes the back
pressure which can damage pumps and limit fluid supply to the machine

How the Micromag works
Contaminated fluid enters the inlet port where it is
equally dispersed by the unique tapered radial flow
channels
Fluid then passes up the outside of the centrally
mounted ‘rare earth’ magnetic core where
contamination particles are attracted and retained
The geometry of the magnetic flux circuit ensures a
controlled build up of contamination so the filter can
never block
The filtered fluid then flows through return slots at the
top of the magnetic core and down through the
center, exiting through the outlet port
