5. Basic Keys in Keyboard

7. Sitting position in Keyboard
• We should sit straight and our back should be straight not in bent
position.
8. Arm position in Keyboard
• Our arms should hang relaxed from the shoulder. Don’t hunch
shoulder. Practice handling an egg daily to get easy finger position.

• The White keys has 7 notes namely A,B,C,D,E,F,G which is repeated till end.
• Beginning with lowest key “ A” as standard Key and move up to the highest key ”C”.
• Middle “C” is an important key which is located to the left of any group of two black keys.
• When you sit on the keyboard to play, middle “C” should point to the middle of the body.

13. • Black key represent separate musical notes as shown in figure.
• To the left of the chopsticks (two black keys) is the note C.
• To the left of the fork (three black keys) is the note F.

• The group of 12 keys are called octave namely C,D,E,F,G,A,B white keys and
C#,D#,F#,G#,A# black keys.

• A sharp note can be defined as raised pitch and its sign is as shown above.
• A Flat note can be defined as lowered pitch and its sign is as shown in
picture.
• Sharps and flats are not the black keys. All black keys are either a sharp or
flat, but not all sharps and flats are black keys
