Princess Party Games
1. WHAT ARE THE MOST FUN PRINCESS PARTY GAMES? Most young girls dream of being treated like a princess. You will need a load of fun princess party games to keep everyone having a good time if your daughter’s upcoming birthday party will have a princess-type theme. Here are some of my daughters’ friends’ preferred games: A game like wink murder is “Sleeping Princess”. One of the players is chosen to be the Court Jester. The Court Jester has to leave the play zone. Upon each of the players closing their eyes, you are required to touch one of the players on their shoulder. This player is now the Evil Queen and the Court Jester returns to the room. The Evil Queen’s goal is to wink at every girl except for the Court Jester without the Court Jester seeing. Each player will fall asleep on the floor when she is winked at. The Court Jester has to identify the Evil Queen before all of the players become sleeping beauties. “Hide and Seek” can be played indoors or outdoors, depending on the weather. To give it a princess twist, start by saying that the princesses must hide from the Evil Queen (who could be one of the players or yourself). Upon being discovered, each princess becomes evil and has to find the other players. If every princess is found, everyone is able to become a good princess again (or becomes awake if they are sleeping beauties). Happy endings are adored by girls! “Princess Secret” is a guessing game whereby each girl writes a secret onto a small piece of paper and puts it into a hat. Taking turns, each girl is required to remove out a secret from the hat and the other players are required to guess it, asking only closed questions. Another fun game is to play Scavenger Hunts. You could hide a plastic tiara and challenge the girls to find out where it is. The princess of that game is the princess who finds the object first. A game which is lots of fun is “Prince’s Crown”. A large picture of a prince is pinned to a vertical surface. A piece of paper is given to each girl in turn when her eyes are covered. A picture of a crown is on the front and some sticky-tape is on the back. The prince’s crown has to be placed on his head by each girl in turn. The girl who gets closest to where it should be wins. “Story Time” is great for parties with younger girls. Sit the girls down, and then read short princess stories. These can be made up or get ideas from books you read when you were their age. Another game which can be altered to match the princess theme is musical chairs (this becomes “Musical Thrones”). You could even decorate the places to sit to match the rest of the venue’s decorations. You will require one less seat than the number of princess playing. The players are required to act like princesses when the music is played. When the music stops, every girl has to try to sit on a seat. The music for the next round is controlled by the girl who can’t sit down. On each go, a chair is taken away. A very suitable game for a princess themed party is “Musical Statues”. On stopping the music, each player has to pose like a princess. If a player moves, they have to sit out of the rest of the game. The winner is the person who remains the most still. Older girls enjoy “Princess Idol”. Everyone have to act like a princess for a set period of time and compete against the performances of the others. Everyone is a judge and determines who the most princess-like girl was. For more ideas and inspiration, check out my Party Games For Girls blog and connected posts on princess party games.
