This document proposes a potable water treatment plant project for the rural community of San Antonio del Tequendama, Colombia. The community currently gets untreated water from the contaminated Bogota River via their aqueduct system called Agua Santa. The proposed project is a 240 gallon per minute water treatment plant with a total budget of $197,000. It details contributions already committed from Colombian sources totaling $58,200, as well as commitments from foreign Rotary clubs and districts totaling $29,000. An additional $109,800 is being requested from foreign Rotary districts and clubs to fully fund the project.

2. Where is San Antonio del Tequendama?
San Antonio del Tequendama is
a municipality located in the
Department of Cundinamarca,
Colombia, S.A. ~40 miles away
from Bogota. Its inhabitants are
low income subsistence
farmers who have access to
abundant but untreated water
via aqueduct.
Geographically, its main urban
center is located at ~1 mile
above sea level, and has an
average temperature of 20º C.
3. The rural community is
organized as a public water
service entity called Agua
Santa, which provides
untreated, highly
contaminated water ** to
enrolled users’ homes.
Agua Santa owns the land
where the PWTP will be
installed, and have more than
14 miles of water distribution
networks.
