2. Amar

Amar is a short inspirational film about a young boy on the
poverty line, working two jobs to help sustain his family,
alongside trying to live life like an eleven year old boy should.
Character type: Following the life of the one individual character,
Amar. I like this style of character and filming because it allows the
audience to connect to the storyline in such a compressed amount of
time that short films limit you too.
Specific genre conventions: One convention of this short film is that
there were many ellipsis to compress time. This included many cross
cuts into different situations and environments. Another convention of
this short film was that there was a metaphor behind it.
NarrativeTechnique:One technique used in this short film was that
there was no dialog but really there was non needed because every
shot was watchingAmar doing his jobs giving more of a visual dialog. I
think this allows the audience to think about the short film.
3. Lovely Monster

This short film is a fictional documentary about a women who
has an unknown disorder and peoples reaction to her
deformity.
Character type: The film was based around one character but
there were many others who were interviewed, throughout. We
always witnessed the character being depressed or negative in
some form. The characters age also made us as the audience
fell sympathetic towards as she was a younger adolescent who
was obviously ill.
Specific genre conventions: There’s were many different
interviews with a lot of different people getting many different
views.
Narrative techniques: one of the narrative techniques of this
film was that they kept the deformity hidden throughout the
entirety of the parody documentary, too keep suspense for the
audience until the resolution.
4. A Place Like This
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_WzVVndUCY
A documentary short about a man, his garden and
the moments that define us.
Character type: individual character former WWII
Lancaster bomber pilot Alex Jenkins, within this
documentary it was mainly centered around one
on one interview questions. With the elderly
gentleman reviewing his experience in WW2.
Specific genre conventions: This was the typical
one on one question and answer structured
documentary, although the questions were not
heard it was just the individual speaking about his
past and his garden.
Narrative techniques: Some of the techniques
used include voiceovers, sound bridges with shots
including the environment and the main
protagonist talking in the interview.
