16. ¿Es caro un PSIM? ¿me lo puedo permitir?
Es muy probable que el coste de su proyecto sea mayor sin un PSIM.
• Algunos PSIM’s son caros. No es el caso de AppVision.
• Sí no se tiene la libertad de seleccionar cualquier fabricante de sistemas y
equipos abiertos, entonces se está “atado” a un fabricante.
• Además, AppVision PSIM puede ahorrar dinero en su sistema PACS o VMS
dado que remplaza ciertos módulos y “add ons” caros.
¿Es el tamaño de mi proyecto suficiente para implantar un PSIM ?
• El tamaño no es lo importante, sino las distintas tecnologías que se quieren
integrar en un centro de control.
• Lo importante es empezar con un buen fundamento, los proyectos pequeños
suelen escalar en el tiempo y un PSIM mantiene la instalación abierta a nuevas
tecnologías y marcas. Los VMS o PACS no pueden competir porque tienen
conflictos de interés con los fabricantes.

27. KING ABDULAZIZ INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
HAJJ TERMINAL DESIGN
Major integrated security project
The project was executed by SBG (Saudi BinLaden Group).
• Is estimated to be at least five million square feet (465,000 m²), the world's second largest air terminal,
after Hong Kong International Airport's terminal. During the annual month of Hajj, this terminal handles
approximately 2.5 million passengers.
In this landmark, AppVision is used to manage and integrate the following:
• Milestone 2000 cameras.
• GE fire alarm panels, 4500 points.
• GE Access control panels.
• AppVision PSIM is monitored by a team of operators in two security rooms with full redundancy on server
level.
• The Airpot includes a 4-storey hotel and restaurant which is being managed buy a separate AppVision PSIM
for around 130 cameras.

• This site contains 4 separate locations used by the army. AppVision centralises and

• Previously, the client used old style LED circuit boards alongside typewritten notes for
each security event,

• buildings to be secured remotely,
• emergency instructions to be presented on screen upon alarm event (each alarm
can have separate instructions)
• security personnel must type in a report following each security event,
This enables security personnel to be replaced rapidly with minimal training
requirements for new staff,

• In partnership with the access control manufacturer NEDAP, AppVision
was deployed on this site to centralise both the Aeos access control with
NICE Systems NVR, cctv cameras and analytics technology.
• AppVision permanently dialogues with the NEDAP Aeos software in order
to centralise all access control security alarms.
• Nice Vision cctv systems were integrated with AppVision so that all PTZ,
playback and alarm features were made accessible directly from the
AppVision graphic interfaces.
• Alarms can be managed directly by AppVision from events and alerts from
either Aeos or Nice Systems and cause and effect relationships are sent to
the other system as a result by AppVision..

(RIYADH- SAUDI ARABIA)
The campus is in the east of Riyadh. Its design is a mix of contemporary and Islamic
architecture to reflect the essence of Saudi local culture and tradition. The campus has a
capacity of ten thousand students, but it can accommodate future increase in student
enrolment.
Main units of the campus include: Administration Building, Conference Center, Clinical Skill
Training Center, King Abdullah International Medical Research Center, Seven Colleges
(Medicine, Nursing, Applied Medical Sciences, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Science and Health
Professions, Public Health and Health Informatics), Housing Compounds, Sports Center and
Recreational Facilities.
There is a large landscaping area connecting the buildings with footpaths for easy
movements and less usage of traffic. In addition, there is a monorail connecting the main
areas of the campus with the housing compound.

44. KSAU-HS-Riyadh
(RIYADH- SAUDI ARABIA)

The architectural design of Jeddah Campus has integrated the new buildings with the
