2. Introduction to E-Lab
The E-Lab was created for students who
utilize Blackboard as their learning
management system.
E-Lab allows them to access an array of
electronic resources. There is no need to start
a session per application and E-Lab includes
resources such as:
•NetTutor (online tutoring for math, statistics, accounting and
computer systems);
•Tell Me More (online tool for the development of English and
Spanish skills) ;
•Turabo Virtual Library (online library catalog, academic journals, e-
books and Net Library book collections);
•Wimba Voice (allows the use of voice interaction with faculty and
students throughout the course);
•English resources (list of useful links to help improve English
language skills.)

6. Language Software Programs at a Glance
• Contains 19 units separated
into two levels:
• Level 1: Units 1 through 8
• Level 2: Unites 9 through 19
• On the average, each unit
contains eleven (11) lessons,
and each lesson is subdivided
into four exercises
emphasizing vocabulary
development, phrases, and
grammatical structure. All
four language skills (reading,
listening, speaking, and
writing) are also
emphasized.

ELLIS Master
Pronunciation: Designed to teach learners of varying ages and levels
to speak and understand English.
Combines graphic, full-motion video, digitized sound
and voice recording, animation and support in a
comprehensive and user-friendly environment.
Students learn to contrast vowel and consonant
sounds while becoming familiar with useful phrases
and expressions commonly used in English.
9. E-lab/ Tell Me More
Tell Me More, is an online system that
aims to develop the essential skills
needed to communicate: listening,
speaking, reading, and writing.
It can be accessed through
Blackboard and can be used anytime
and anywhere. It may be customized
to learn from simulated everyday
situations or professional language
environments.
10. E-lab/ Net Tutor
Net Tutor, is an online tutoring system that provides tutoring for
the following subject areas: mathematics, statistics, accounting
and computer systems.
This online service offers live tutoring, a question and answer
center, a bulletin board, tutorial archives, and chat archives.
The Paper Center allow students to send documents for tutors
to review and comment on. In order to use the Paper Center, the
student must already have their document finished and ready to
send before clicking on Submit your paper.
11. E-lab/ Wimba Voice
Wimba Voice, is a combination
of learning tools that encourage
the use of voice through various
exercises that parallel students'
current course curriculum.
It also allows interactions
between students and/or their
facilitator.
