Productivity Tools <br />Word processing tools in the foreign and second language field, some things it can be used for are; creating journals, describing experiences, oral reports and research projects.<br />The benefits of using these word processing tools are it helps students internalize word meanings and gives additional practice in using the new words, it gives practice in following oral English direction and reading and responding in written English and builds listening competence. <br />Word processing programs support correct usage with grammar checks, correct spelling, and reminders to employ good style. <br />

Multimedia Software<br />Multimedia software is designed to support language acquisition and vocabulary development. <br />Interactive books give students the opportunity to interact in English authentically in a less stressful environment than face-to-face. <br />Leapfrog is a series of handheld computer games designed to give students at all levels practice in math, science, social studies, and languages.<br />Language labs provide students with a recorder, video monitor, and computer, it has very interactive activities.<br />Radio broadcasts give learners practice in oral and written language.<br />

Adaptive devices for students with special needs<br />Websites like English zone, ESP bears, and tower of English provide learners with in depth practice in areas that are difficult.<br />With Leapfrog students can choose the level of difficulty and language developmental levels.<br />Presentation aids like power-point or keynote provide learners with visual aids that help reduce stress levels and focus on their presentations.<br />Virtual field trips provide students with opportunities to go places that would be impossible for them to see otherwise. <br />
  8. 8. practice socially responsible, ethical, and legal use of technology, information, and software resources<br />Since most of the students don’t speak English, you have to be aware as the teacher of the students cultures to not offend them and their cultures<br />You also have to be aware as the teacher that most technology and software is in English and make sure the non-speaking English student understands<br />
  9. 9. Copyright laws and guidelines<br />Teachers can access things like Babblefish.com, free-translator.com, and wordlingo.com to use in their classroom to help them teach and well as help their students learn the different languages by using different programs. <br />
