If the man had killed himself,
he would not have been able

Mimi died when she was 50 years
old. When the piggy box was
opened, it had just $500.
Apart from Jojo no one had taken
any money out of the box. How
could you explain this?
Mimi was born on 29 February. Hence
her birthday came only once in 4 years
and she only put the money only 10
times until she died. She deposited a
total of $2500.
Jojo celebrated his birthday every
year and took out of the box $50 every
year for 40 years making the total
amount $2000. Thus when the piggy
box was opened, it had just $500.

boy outside climbed up into
chimney. He put a piece of plank
across the opening of the
chimney. Lots of smoke and fumes
were produced. The man died of
suffocation in his parlor.

  • 7. 7 ANSWER CLUE Lateral Thinking Puzzle 2 Mimi bought a piggy savings box when she was 10 years old. She put $250 into the box every time her birthday came. Her younger brother Jojo took out $50 out of her piggy box on each of his birthdays. Mimi died when she was 50 years old. When the piggy box was opened, it had just $500. Apart from Jojo no one had taken any money out of the box. How could you explain this? Mimi was born on 29 February. Hence her birthday came only once in 4 years and she only put the money only 10 times until she died. She deposited a total of $2500. Jojo celebrated his birthday every year and took out of the box $50 every year for 40 years making the total amount $2000. Thus when the piggy box was opened, it had just $500.
