3. 3
May We All Be Well And Happy!
Reflection
The Blessings of Life are the fruit
of good Kammic action.
Refrain from deeds driven by Greed,
Hatred and Delusion.
4. 4
May we see the Light of Dhamma
Reflection
The Greatest of All Gifts is undoubtedly the Dhamma.
Dhamma Learning and Practice leads to the End of Dukkha.
5. 5
Once upon
a time,
Lived a
turtle who
was blind.
Reflection
For so long, ignorance has spun us in Samsara.
In the rounds of rebirths we have suffered
much Dukkha.
6. 6
She searched the ocean blue,
For a drifting yoke to find
Reflection
In the woeful states we had for long grieved in pain.
We had hoped for an escape again and again.
7. 7
She bobbed through the ripples
and waves,
Once in a long long while
Reflection
When there is suffering, time drags on so slowly.
Oh, it is terrible, the state of misery.
8. 8
Although she had eyes she had no sight
To pop her head through the yoke she tried
Reflection
Just like the blind turtle with so
little chance for success,
to be born as a human is so difficult a quest.
9. 9
Oh …! My dear friends,
How fortunate are we
Reflection Have we pondered on our Blessings as a human being?
To see the causes for Blessings, we must reflect within.
10. 10
To be born in this human realm,
You and me
Reflection
To be born into the human state is most wonderful.
Treasure this and live a life that’s righteous
and meaningful.
11. 11
Through trials and tribulations,
The turtle worked her way.
Reflection
Through the rounds of rebirths
where we all suffered so endlessly,
we must now live wisely lest we fall back into misery.
12. 12
Human birth is so rare;
It’s really beyond compare.
Reflection
Wise noble ones live a life based on the Dhamma.
They strive to reach the final Goal of Nibbana.
13. 13
Let’s dwell
upon the
Dhamma,
And share its
precious gifts.
Reflection
Do Learn and contemplate
on the Dhamma constantly.
Share the Dhamma then,
it’s meritorious certainly.
14. 14
We can learn to bear this thorny world,
To handle thorns without being pricked.
Reflection
When Dhamma is practiced most ardently and diligently,
wisdom grows and we can handle life’s problems
more peacefully.
16. 16
Seek the path to
freedom,
From the fetters
of ignorance.
Reflection
Ignorance and craving are
the root cause of Dukkha.
Walk the Noble 8-Fold Path
with heart to end Dukkha.
17. 17
With love and
compassion,
Our Teacher
paved the way
Reflection
Buddha our Fully Enlightened Teacher taught the Way
to true freedom and happiness.
Our greatest gratitude is to follow His Teachings with
diligence and mindfulness.
18. 18
To help us
seek and
find,
The wonders
of our hearts
and minds.
Reflection
The Buddha expounded The Noble 8-Fold Path
very clearly.
This Path will purify the mind for Nibbana ultimately.
19. 19
The journey of self-discov’ry,
Is about the here and now.
Reflection
Practicing so ardently the 4 Foundations of Mindfulness,
may we train the mind in awareness and realize
peacefulness.
20. 20
Human life is likened to a raft,
We must use it well to save ourselves.
Reflection
It’s most important to practice Morality,
Concentration and Wisdom.
This will lead us all to the other shore,
to Nibbana and Enlightenment.
22. 22
Seek the path to
freedom,
From the fetters of
ignorance.
Reflection
SEE that Life is uncertain
but Death is a certainty.
Wise ones don’t wait, they
walk The Noble Path
diligently.
23. 23
Seek the path to freedom
From the fetters of ignorance.
Reflection
The Path to Liberation has been set out clearly
by The Buddha.
Do not let Mara obstruct you from taking this Path
to end Dukkha.
