My personal reflection about Web 2.0
I’ll start with the description of Web 2.0.
Technically, Web 2.0 is the term given to
describe a second generation of the
World Wide Web that is focused on the
ability of the people to collaborate and
share information online. It’s like an
extension of the original ideals of the
Web. One improved function of Web 2.0
includes more open sharing of
information. A Web 2.0 site gives its
users the free choice to interact or
collaborate with each other in a social
media dialogue as creators (prosumers) of user-generated content in a virtual
community, in contrast to websites where users (consumers) are limited to the
passive viewing of content that was created for them. Examples of Web 2.0 include
social-networking sites, blogs, wikis, video-sharing sites, hosted services and web
applications. I haven’t learned more about it.
As to what it means to me I really don’t know what to say. It’s great and essential
for the technology to keep developing. It gives us multiple opportunities. We did a
lot of things on Wiki last year and we keep doing a lot of stuff. Uploading our
homeworks, exams, grammar, vocabulary and other information can be very useful
for everybody in the class. We can profit from this information and put it into
practice once learned.
To sum up Web 2.0 which is so user-friendly can be a wonderful educational and
learning tool too that we can turn to account.
