2. Preface
• The Review of Bangladesh Economics is an important annual
publication of the Government.
• The trends of macroeconomic indicators, development policies and
strategies of the Government and sectorial progress of Bangladesh
economy are discussed in this document.It is an updated version of
the Review published in Bangla and placed before Parliament with
other budget documents. The English version comes out after June
and updates the data for the entire past fiscal year.The data and
information presented in the Review will help analyses the overall
economic situation of the country. Moreover, issues relating to
poverty reduction, human resource development and private sector
development have been discussed in the Review. I hope that the
policy planners, academicians, researchers, students, enthusiastic
readers, and other stakeholders will find the document useful.

3. Introduction
• ‘Bangladesh Economic Review’ is a regular publication of the Government. The Bangla
version of the Review published as one of the background documents of the national
budget is presented before the Parliament. The document reflects the current status of the
socioeconomic prosperity of the country together with analysis of data/statistics on
macroeconomic fundamentals. The Bangla version covers data up to March of the fiscal
year. In the English version of the Review, relevant data and information of FY The Review
incorporates fifteen chapters and sixty-three statistical appendices. Chapter one contains a
brief review of the macroeconomic situation of the country. Chapter’s two to six
incorporate an assessment of the country’s macroeconomic fundamentals like GDP,
savings and investments, price, wages and employment, fiscal and monetary management.

4. Issue
• To The Measure the national Income of Bangladesh. National Income plays a great role in the economy of
any country. Since Independence, Investment, Export and Import are increasing year to year. Now we will
try Know how significance of national Income.

5. Research Objective
• As we know that are three methods to measure national income. Here we will use
expenditure method. Our core objective are-
• To measure national income
• To evaluate the trends of national income over the years.

6. Methodology
• In this research, we will acquire the knowledge about the national income of
Bangladesh. National income represents the entire economic condition of a country.
First of all we have to find out the consumption, followed by investment, government
expenditure & export, and subtracting import and we will find national income. To
calculate this we will use this formula-
National income=C+I+G+(X-M)
There are the, method of measuring the national income are as follows:
• Expenditure Method: This method measure the amount of spending on goods and
service by all the sectors of the country as outlined above. This will include
government spending on all the services it provides, business spending on goods and
services such as food, clothing, household goods, furniture, entertainment, insurance,
transport and so on.
• Income Method: This method approaches national income from the distribution side.
According to this method national income obtained by summing up by the income of
all individuals in the country method record all the income received by each sector as a
result of transaction that take place over the period of time under consideration.

7. Methodology
• Output Method: According the output method, the economy is divided into
different sectors such as agriculture, mining, manufacturing, commerce’s
transport, communication and other services. Then gross product is found by
adding up the value of all production taken during a given year.

8. Data
• Data: We collect 10 year data from 1999 to 2008. We try to calculate GNP using these 10 years.

9. GDP
• In the graph, it is clearly shows GDP in 1999 is 5.421
Several times of people of our country not interested to buy more products. For
this reason producer was produces malamute.

10. Export
•In this Graph, it is clearly shows that the amount of export increased order eased
of our county. From 1999 to 2008 amount of export gradually increased.

11. Import
•Graph of Imports shows the total amount of import increased or
decreased in Bangladesh. Small amount imports was decreasing is good
for economy. 11
12. Conclusion
• After completing our research, we come to know about GDP, Consumption, and
Investment. Export and Import of the country from 1999 to 2008.Choosing 4
sector models C+I+G+(X–M) we can calculate the GNP. That indicates ones
countries gross national product. Here we include graphical chart, where we can
see the increasing and decreasing portion of GNP of the country. For exports we
make a graph for me to understand of 10 years trading position of our country.
