• Born 20th May 1970.
• His first job was a journalist at metro silicon valley.
• In 1992 he was hired as a writer for spy magazine.
• He was also working as a correspondent on Michael Moore’s TV Nation
series.
• At the end of TV nation he signed a development deal with the BBC which
ended up becoming Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends.
• His first book The Call of the Weird: Travels in American Subcultures, was
published in Britain in 2005.
• He has guest written for a number of publications including Hip-Hop
Connection and still writes for the Idler.
3. DOCUMENTARIES
• Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends (1998-2000) – He followed
marginal, mostly American sub-cultures such as: survivalists,
black nationalists, white supremacists and porn stars.
• When Louis Met… (2000-2002) – He accompanied a different
British celebrity in their day-to-day lives, some of these people
include: Jimmy Saville, the Hamilton's and Max Clifford.
• BBC Two Specials (2003 – Present) beginning in 2003 Theroux
returned to American themes, working at feature length, with a
more natural tone.
