Making a
 Difference with
LetsGiveBack.org
Over 3 million children are hospitalized
each year in the United States.
Parents are often caught unprepared
for their child’s hospitalization.
In the PICU
Parents don’t plan on being there… they are often caught
completely by surprise. All of the focus is on their child.
Their lives are turned upside down.

Research shows that the first 24 hours in the PICU
are the most stressful for parents.
GiveBackPacks supply parents with
critical non-medical supplies.

It was a beautiful gift — there was a lovely
note letting us know that someone was
going to be there for us on this journey and
items to help make our stay in the hospital
easier.  After receiving this gift, I felt like I
had another person in our corner…Thank
            you very much!”

                                         -Marlene Andrada
Molly was a
          typical
      2 year old girl
      with a bright
          smile.

Her smile faded in late 2008. Her
body was hiding a terrible secret.

Her Worst Day
Reaching out a
hand… a simple
 idea comes to
       life.

     followed by some

Her smile is bright and shining again!
Our Vision
To put a GiveBackPack in the hands of every family when
their child is admitted to a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit
(PICU) anywhere in the United States, starting with Virginia.
Who needs our help in Virginia?

There are 5 Pediatric Intensive Care Units
                               (PICUs) in Virginia.

                       Each PICU admits approximately 1000
                            children per year in Virginia.

That’s over 5,000 children per year
admitted to intensive care in our state.
Who needs our help in the U.S.?
       There are approximately 337 Pediatric
Intensive Care Units (PICUs) in America.

Each PICU admits approximately 1000
      children per year in America.

That’s over 300,000 children per year
admitted to intensive care in our country.
Supporting the caregivers…
…so they can take care of their child.
What can you do?
—  Youcan help us reach our goal by making a
  tax deductible donation to
  LetsGiveBack.org.
—  Forevery $100 you donate, you support at
least 6 families with a child in a Pediatric
  Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
—  In
2012, 1000 children will be admitted to
the Inova Fairfax PICU. To support these
families, we need to raise over $15,000.00
  this year.
