National Nutrition Month is celebrated each March to highlight the importance of healthy eating and physical activity. It was initiated in 1973 as National Nutrition Week by the American Dietetic Association, now known as the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, to promote nutrition education and the dietetics profession. The campaign focuses on making informed food choices and developing good eating and exercise habits to control weight and prevent chronic disease. The presentation provides tips for healthy meal preparation, essential nutrients like protein, and things people can do during National Nutrition Month, such as incorporating superfoods, adding fresh produce to meals, using spices instead of salt, and making calories count through nutrient-dense choices.

5. 1. Where it is
come from ?
History
"National Nutrition Week", initiated in March 1973,
was embraced by members of the American Dietetic
Association (now the Academy of Nutrition and
Dietetics) as a way to deliver nutrition education
messages to the public while promoting the
profession of dietetics. In 1980, in response to
growing public interest in nutrition, the week-long
celebration expanded to become a month-long
observance.
6. What are the tips for
preparing healthy meal ?
Wanna know ****
7. Here are 5 tips !.
1. Use as little salt in your cooking as possible.
2. Add Season foods with herbs, spices, garlic and onions.
3. Bake, broil, roast or stew lean meats, fish or poultry.
4. Cut back on processed meats high in saturated fat.
5. Make salad dressings with olive oil.
8. Let’s talk about !
Protein along with
regular strength-building
exercise, Protein is also
essential for maintaining
muscle, which we tend to
lose as we age. Consuming
enough protein may also
be linked to bone health.
Sources of protein:
• Meat, fish • Tofu
• Eggs • Nuts
• Beans • Milk, yogurt,cheese
10. 1. Include superfoods
in your daily diet
• Walnuts • Broccoli
• Dark chocolate • Potatoes
• Avocado • Salmon
• Garlic • Spinach
• Beets
• Lemons
11. 2. Add fresh produce to
every meal.
Adding a little spinach to your
eggs or some fresh blueberries
to your oatmeal in the morning
not only increases the fiber
content of your meal, but it also
boosts the vitamin and mineral
values as well.
12. 3. Season less with salt
and more with your
favorite spices.
Excess salt is directly correlated
to high blood pressure, heart
disease, and stroke. It’s harder
to control sodium consumption
when eating in restaurants, so
it’s ideal to cook more of your
meals at home. Play around
with spices like turmeric,
cumin, ginger, garlic.
13. 4. Think about making calories
count
Rather than labeling foods good or
bad, consider the vitamins, minerals,
and fiber available in those foods.
example, let’s look at a hamburger.
Instead of just visiting a fast food
restaurant, take the time to make
your own. Buy high quality, grass-fed
beef or turkey. Blend it with ground
vegetables or top it with avocado,
grilled mushrooms, or peppers. This
way, you receive the positive
qualities of animal protein, along
with some healthy fats and
vegetables.
14. 4. Closing Notes
One study found that eating unhealthy foods puts
you at a 66 percent increased risk of productivity
loss. Eating a healthy, balanced diet to make sure
your brain has the fuel it needs means more
energy and increased productivity at work.
