LDCs face unique and unprecedented
challenges
LDC NDCs’ were done rapidly, using what was
available and often driven by short-term,
external technical assistance missions
Adaptation priorities not elaborated in NDCs
(being developed in some NAPs)
Projectized, sectoral approaches have limited
impact due to climate action requiring cross-
sectoral and multi-level responses

4. Therefore
LIFE AR will
facilitate:
The LDC group to deliver a long term
vision for adapting towards a climate
resilient future by 2050
LDCs to develop an ask and offer to
donors on what is needed to get there
such as direct access to finance,
domestic institutions and capacity
Evidence gathering to find lighthouse
initiatives that have proven success
