mall.
Shopping mall is a group of retail stores under one roof.
The floor plans of shopping complex develop by using building bye-laws and Vaasthu Shastra.
Revit is the richest software for BIM.(building information modelling)
With the increase in technology the impact of natural light and shadow can be easily shown at
any particular season.
Solar study helps in visualizing how, shadow from different terrain and surrounding building
affect the site.

BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING (BIM) IS A PROCESS INVOLVING THE
GENERATION AND MANAGEMENT OF DIGITAL REPRESENTATIONS OF PHYSICAL
AND FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PLACES.
 Objective- providing solution for limitations of local or street shopping , dealing with
large crowds, waiting too long to buy something, availability at single place.

 The term planning of a building refers to the arrangement of all the units of a building
on all the floors and at all the levels.
 Planning is done with the help of AUTOCAD.
 The site plan is sketched considering the Building Bye-Laws and the Vastu Shastra.
 The entire shopping complex is divided into 5 floors along with the underground
basement parking.
 3D modelling is done by AUTODESK REVIT.
 REVIT is the richest software for 3D modelling.
 The components which are used for the interior and exterior designing like
paints,lights,furniture can be found inbuilt in REVIT.
 It also provides accurate material quantity required or used in the designing.
 It is fast and gives accurate resuts than any other software.
 It is provided for cellar parking 9'x18' at 900 for each vehical.
 Proper notification systems, lighting, and signage are inserted to facilitate safe and speedy evacuations during an emergency
in the basement parking spaces.
 Ground floor is divided into three parts
 The clothing department (60'x18') has a large variety of clothes of all sizes, and season whereas cosmetics (60'x18') deals
with substances or products used to enhance or alter the appearance or fragrance of the body and general items include house
hold items
 First floor is divided into two parts.
 The major portion include grocery store (286'x18') which is provided with enough counter so that there is no traffic of
people and more convenience for customers
One side consists of Electronics stuffs (286'x18') and the other side is consists of mechanical and plumbing partsv(327’x18’)
another side consists of furniture and gym-club(89’x66’).
 It consists of Restaurant (286’x 18’) and gaming zone (327’x18’).
• Restaurant or an eatery is a business which prepares and serves foods and drinks to consumers in exchange for money.
All kinds of fast foods, drinks& beverages, Meals are served .
It consists of four theatre (76'x46') with cash counter and a small canteen for drinks and snacks.
 Schedule of Quantities is a document that contains descriptions and/or measurements of all
items of work required to carry out a given construction project.

GROUND FLOOR PLAN SHEDULING
 The process of calculating the quantities and costs of the various items required in
connection with the work .
 Work can complete within limited funds.
 Problems due to shortage of funds or of materials reduced.
 Required to invite the tenders and Quotations and to arrange contract.
 Control the expenditure.
 In this project estimation done with the help of Scheduling Quantities.
 Total cost of the project excluding the components is 64259382.

The overall estimates of all floors in the shopping mall has been given in a tabular form which is given below.

 Lighting solar studies produce single images that show shadow cast from the sun position in the active view.
 Evaluate the impact of natural light and shadows on the building and sites.
 The planning of the building such as Setbacks and Projections, F.A.R and Ground Coverage, . Building height and
other Service Spaces is done according to the building bye- laws which gave guidelines and afford safety against tire,
noise, health hazard, and Structural failure.
 The component such as doors, gates, staircase, and the facing of the building is placed by the rules of vastu sastra
which is also responsible for the Comfort,. Inner realization,. Strength,. Easy to use, best use of space, Good
structuring.
 Revit helps to create 3D model of any structure along with its section and elevation which becomes very easy for the
customer to understand about the project in detail.
 Digital prototype model of any structure can be presented in prior to its construction.
 Revit provides large variety of way how interior and exterior designing can be done along with placing of inbuilt
components like furniture, painting lighting, etc.
 The quantity of every material or any component which is placed in the structure can be easily found out by material
take-off using Revit
 The cost of each item can be calculated using the Revit, and hence an approximate estimation of the project can be
submitted
 Solar study helps in visualizing how, shadow from different terrain and surrounding building affect the site
 Future Scope: 6D in Revit deals with the sustainability of the building and energy analysis such as conserving of
energy, Humidity, Temperature,Annual wind rose speed distribution,Annual Fuel Consumtion ,Annual Energy
Consumption etc.

  • 1. Under the esteemed guidance of K.Mounika (Assistant professor in civil Engineering) 5D MODELLING AND SOLAR STUDY OF SHOPPING COMPLEX
  • 3. Drafting,Planning,3D modelling, scheduling, Cost Estimation and Solar study of shopping mall. Shopping mall is a group of retail stores under one roof. The floor plans of shopping complex develop by using building bye-laws and Vaasthu Shastra. Revit is the richest software for BIM.(building information modelling) With the increase in technology the impact of natural light and shadow can be easily shown at any particular season. Solar study helps in visualizing how, shadow from different terrain and surrounding building affect the site.
  • 4. BIM BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING (BIM) IS A PROCESS INVOLVING THE GENERATION AND MANAGEMENT OF DIGITAL REPRESENTATIONS OF PHYSICAL AND FUNCTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF PLACES.

  • 13.  The term planning of a building refers to the arrangement of all the units of a building on all the floors and at all the levels.  Planning is done with the help of AUTOCAD.  The site plan is sketched considering the Building Bye-Laws and the Vastu Shastra.  The entire shopping complex is divided into 5 floors along with the underground basement parking.
  • 14.  3D modelling is done by AUTODESK REVIT.  REVIT is the richest software for 3D modelling.  The components which are used for the interior and exterior designing like paints,lights,furniture can be found inbuilt in REVIT.  It also provides accurate material quantity required or used in the designing.  It is fast and gives accurate resuts than any other software.
  • 15.  It is provided for cellar parking 9'x18' at 900 for each vehical.  Proper notification systems, lighting, and signage are inserted to facilitate safe and speedy evacuations during an emergency in the basement parking spaces.

Easy to use, best use of space, Good structuring.  Revit helps to create 3D model of any structure along with its section and elevation which becomes very easy for the customer to understand about the project in detail.  Digital prototype model of any structure can be presented in prior to its construction.  Revit provides large variety of way how interior and exterior designing can be done along with placing of inbuilt components like furniture, painting lighting, etc.  The quantity of every material or any component which is placed in the structure can be easily found out by material take-off using Revit  The cost of each item can be calculated using the Revit, and hence an approximate estimation of the project can be submitted  Solar study helps in visualizing how, shadow from different terrain and surrounding building affect the site  Future Scope: 6D in Revit deals with the sustainability of the building and energy analysis such as conserving of energy, Humidity, Temperature,Annual wind rose speed distribution,Annual Fuel Consumtion ,Annual Energy Consumption etc.
