As part of their investigations, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and state health officials have analyzed samples of vaping products that patients treated for EVALI have provided in order to find a possible culprit of the disease. Most of the products have contained THC (the high-inducing compound in marijuana), according to the FDA. Federal and state lab tests have also found vitamin E acetate and other oil compounds in vaping products.
