You are holding a ‘tasty’ calendar; the outcome of friendship and
collaboration between the cooperating European countries of a
Comenius programme.
The communication and the exchange of experiences among all
the participants, on educational and cultural matters, have
contributed into new perspectives of thinking. Friendship, love,
respect in difference, and solidarity are some of the values
which were developed through the personal contact, the
collective action, and the short living together of the participant
students and teachers.
Our memories are full of pictures composed from the evergreen
fields, the medieval cities, the historical and cultural monuments
of the countries of our fellow-workers. These pictures give-off
sweet smells and special tastes from their traditional cuisine;
the paprika and pepper tang from Bulgaria; the exhilarating
limoncello from Italy; the sweet flavour of the Bavarian vanilla
cream from Germany; the spicy pickles of the hunter’s onion stew
from Poland; the eastern spices in the Turkish halva; the
fragrant orange juice in New Year’s cake from Cyprus….
Our intention was to include all these flavours and aromas in this
calendar. All the dishes (of food and sweets) were cooked with
lots of love by our European friends and us.
Enjoy! And may the table of 2012, be always full of joy and
happiness!
