Personality tests can help discover your style and ideal environment for developing a successful career. Tests like the Myers-Briggs assess whether you are an introvert or extrovert, sensing or intuiting, thinking or feeling, and judging or perceiving. These traits indicate your preferences, such as working alone or in groups, and whether you prefer structure or flexibility. Taking several tests on different occasions and keeping an open mind can help pinpoint your true personality type and the best way for you to share your passions.
2. What is your style?
Style is the way you want to share your passion
message.
For example, do you want to share your message in a
big or small group of people?
Are you more comfortable sharing your message
with one person at a time in person, or in an online
setting?
3. Personality tests
One of the best ways to discover your style is through personality
tests.
Personality tests will show you what kind of working
environment and style suit you best.
If you work in the wrong environment, it will not help your
passion to grow.
One popular personality test is the C. Jung and Briggs Myers 16
personalities test.
The test will help you discover if you are an Extravert or
Introvert, Sensing or Intuiting, Thinking or Feeling, and Judging
or Perceiving person.
4. Introvert vs. Extrovert
For example, if you are an introvert, you would like to do
things in a quiet place with fewer people.
However, an extroverted person likes to do things in a
group or public setting.
If you are an introvert but you are sharing your passion
in a large group setting, you will not be able to express
your passion clearly and openly.
However, if you were to share your passion with one or
two persons, it would be easier for you to share your
passion, which will make your passion grow more easily.
5. Judging personality
Another example would be Judging or Perceiving
personality types.
If you are a Judging personality, you like structure,
and working in an environment that follows a
schedule and routine.
You like to plan things out. You are more likely to be
stationary.
6. Perceiving personality
However, if you are a Perceiving personality, you
prefer flexibility, and you do not mind if someone
tells you last minute things or details.
You like to do many things throughout the day, move
around to different locations, and interact with
others in public settings.
7. Do your research
You can do a simple online search for personality
tests; there will be plenty for you to choose from.
I recommended reading the book called “Please
Understand Me” by David Keirsey to help you
understand more about personality types and their
behaviors.
There are also other fun personality tests such as
fruits, candies, or snacks tests.
8. Take multiple times
There are multiple versions of the personality tests.
Take at least three different tests on different days and
times.
Your mood will affect how you choose the answers.
For example, when you are in a good mood, your answers
will be different compared to when you are in a negative
mood.
When you get the same or similar test results from the
three tests, then you have found your personality type.
9. Have an opened mind
Do not get discouraged if you feel that your result of the
personality test is opposite to what you might think your
personality is.
As a human being, there are a lot of things about us that
we do not know ourselves.
When you discover something different about yourself, it
does not mean it is wrong, just that you have learned
something new about yourself.
If you got a result that is opposite of who you think you
are, take a moment and think about it, because you were
the one answered the questions, no one else.
