2. I strongly believe that beside barriers created
by the system and the institution/school, for
the smooth integration of ICTs in Education,
the major obstacle in the process of adopting
ICTs in education is at the level of the teacher.
If the role of the teacher is made simple, the
overall process will be accelerated and
educational outcomes will be relevant for a
21st
century milieu.
3. In this light, I am now proposing a 3-tier adoption process for teachers:
Tier – 1 // application of ICT devices like Projectors, interactive boards, etc in the
classroom
Tier – 2 // evaluation/application of educative software like HotPotae,
Presentation Software etc
Tier – 3 // basics of webpage development/linking, editing software, surfing,
web3.0 tools etc.
I believe these skills will enable a teacher confidently and efficiently adopt ICTs in his/her
lessons.
