Moodspace creates art installations that blend LED lighting and fine art to create ambient lighting effects. The art appears to shift and change as the LED lights cycle through pre-programmed "light shows". This optical illusion triggers mood-enhancing environments. Moodspace handles all aspects of the installations from design and artwork creation to lighting programming and installation oversight. They work with clients to specify the appropriate LED fixtures, artwork surfaces, and installation setup based on the project requirements and space.

4. FRONT LIGHTING
For front-lit Moodspace installations, LED lights are
typically mounted on the ceiling approximately 4-6
feet away from the artwork. Using client provided
floor plan and elevation diagrams, beam angles
and diffusion rate are calibrated and CAD/shop
diagrams formulated.

5. FRONT LIGHTING
Custom recessed LED housing units are built when
required to accommodate unique ceiling structures
or to hide the lights.

6. BACK LIGHTING
Back-lit installations require a minimum of
8” of space behind the artwork. Artwork is
printed on fabric, glass and/or acrylic and
LED lights are Installed behind the artwork.
Using client provided floor and elevation
diagrams we design custom backlit housing
for the LED lights.

11. Frequently Asked Questions:
Where is projector or other technology that is used to be placed?
Moodspace is a blend between fine art and LED technology. It is not projection
art neither is it animation. We print on canvass, fabric, acrylic and glass. The shifts
and subtle changes that takes place is due to the multilayered compositions which
are ‘triggered’ by changes in the software programmed LED light shows.
Do we select one of your images and the transformation is done from that image?
Selections are available from the Moodspace catalog which can be used as is or
modified. Most of our projects are custom. We provide two treatments based on
meetings, discussions and review of project specifications accompanied by a
design brief to establish assumptions and understandings.
Client selects one or the other, a combination of both or an elaboration of one of
the pieces, which is then edited and the master is printed and coated. The next
phase is programming the LED lights for the particular artwork. After
programming the files are uploaded to a control panel attached that is attached
to the wall.
How much space is required in front and in back of the art.
Depends on wether its backlit or front-lit. For front-lit which is our standard method
of installation we will need 4' - 6' distance from the artwork for LED lights on the
ceiling; if more distance is required we will provide detailed schematics or
alternate installation setups and specify LED lights. We work with our client's floor
plan and elevation diagram to provide a lighting design schematic during project
development. For back-lit installations we require a minimum of 8” behind the
artwork.

12. Frequently Asked Questions:
How does the LED lights change?
We use software to program several light shows based on the particular color
CB 12 - Colorkinetics scheme and visual elements of each artwork. These programs are uploaded to a
control panel which is attached to the wall during installation. Each button
triggers a different LED light sequence with a different response from the
artwork. In other words, different buttons can be associated with different mood-
generating LED sequences
What is smallest and largest size?
Our minimum size is 40 sq. ft. and the largest can be of any size; for monumental
sized installation we use Industrial printers for output. A MoodSpace installation
can be an entire room, lobby or hallway, wall to wall, wraparound or a stand
PDS 150 Power box alone installation.
What are the surface you commonly print on?
Typically, we use pigment inks on museum-grade archival canvas slated for a 100
year longevity span for front-lit; the canvas art is then gallery-wrapped/stretched
iPlayer 3 (houses LED in individual panels. For back-lit installation we print on acrylic. We can also print
lightshows) on exotic surfaces including glass and tile.
What does the warranties cover?
We provide a three year warranty on any defects in the art and manufacturer's
warranty on the LED lights.

13. Frequently Asked Questions:
What are lighting requirements?
All project components are specified by Moodspace based on client provided
floor plan, size and distance from the art. Depending on the type of project,
space requirements, etc. we specify different LED lights. Our LED lighting system
of choice is Colorkinetics from Phillips.
Are specialized installers required to install this or can it be installed by a general
contractor?
LED installation is fairly straightforward and any licensed electrician can execute
from the detailed wiring diagrams, installation instructions that we will provide.
All installation labor including artwork and LED lights are provided by client. We
supervise the installation process through documentation, phone, email, etc. We
also provide a 24 hour on-site supervision for any final tweaks and adjustments.
