Technical Support Engineer.Position

My job Responsibilities included the technical support and maintenance for all
equipments and instruments of mud logging units. The equipments divided to three main
categories:
1-Gas system: using a gas system for measuring the total amount of hydrocarbon gases
resulted from drilling and also for determining the concentration percentage of (Ethan,
methane, propane …) in the Gas- H2S sensors for measuring the amount of H2S if
existed and trigger the alarm system.
GAS DETECTION DEVICES :
SRI 410GC , DAQ , FLOW CONTROL , SHIMADZU GC-14B , DAS ,GEDO
PHILIPS RECORDER TRANSKOMP350 , SIEMENS RECORDER SIREC D-400
,STAND ALONE, EKDS (Early Kick Detection Sensor) ,
2- Drilling parameters measuring system: using sensors to measure ROP (rate of
penetration) - HKLD (Hock load) - SPP (stand Pipe Pressure) – RPM (revolution per
min) – Torque - casing pressure-Ultra Sonic (PVT) –Draw work.
3-Mud system parameters: using sensors to measure mud levels in tanks - mud weight
in /out - mud temperature in /out - mud conductivity in /out – SPM (strokes per min) -
mud flow out.
The job also included the following duties: Calibration of all sensors, transducers and
measuring instrumentation - Rig up of the mud logging unit in the field - Recheck all the
instrumentation after rig up to start monitoring and recording the Parameters-Technical
Support for the geologists running the unit.
(EKDS) : Early kick detection sensor calibrations and trouble shooting .
