The eyeball is composed of three layers - the outer protective sclera, middle choroid layer which provides blood supply, and inner retina containing light-sensitive rods and cones. Eyelids protect the eyeball from particles and intense light while six eye muscles connect the eyeball to the skull, allowing sightline changes and structural support within the socket.
