Diti M. Jagawat of class VII C gave a presentation on water conservation. She explained that water conservation aims to reduce water usage by people, companies, organizations and governments as the fresh water on Earth is used faster than it can be replenished naturally. Some simple ways to conserve water included not letting the water run while washing dishes, only running the clothes washer and dishwasher when full, and upgrading appliances that waste water. If water is not conserved, it could lead to drought, desertification, disease and conflicts over water resources. The advantages of conserving water are that it ensures clean water, good aquatic life, cost savings and better health.
