1. I for long preferred meshing complex objects using OpenFOAM mesh tool:snappyHexMesh. During
my thesis I had extensively worked on the tool to successfully mesh complex geometry. And I have
been able to produce mesh with less non-orthogonal cells, higher rate of boundary layer addition –
which I could not achieve using ANSYS workbench tool. I had meshed a semi-submersible rig structure
during my thesis. And this was done to perform numerical analysis of Vortex Induced Vibration. I have
provided the material in my Thesis attached as a separate document, and here I have posted images
of a scaled mesh of an A380 and a pitch & plunge simulation of an aerofoil.
