2. Introduction
• Dr. MiriamGalindo graduated magna cum laude from Chapman
University with a degree in psychology before she moved on to her
graduate studies.The Chapman University psychology program
helps graduates such as Miriam Galindo prepare for academic or
professional work in the field of psychology.
Chapman's psychology program requires students to complete 46
credit hours of coursework and provides foundational knowledge in
psychology while allowing students to pursue specific research
interests. In the program, the 25 credits essential for all psychology
students cover the history, research methods, and physiological
components of psychology and include a senior project.

• Students also choose one course from each of five groupings that
deal with narrower subjects, such as sensation or abnormal
psychology. Finally, students choose two courses from a larger list
of psychology electives.
The final project of the Chapman University psychology program
can be a thesis, research project, or senior seminar.The senior
seminar is for those interested in moving directly into nonacademic
employment in the field after graduation, while the thesis and
research project are for those interested in moving on to graduate
programs.The senior thesis includes a seminar component, while
the research project is self-driven.
