The World Karate Federation is proud to present the 13th edition of the WKF
Youth Camp. A true demonstration of the extraordinary impact of our sport in
young ages and the biggest celebration of underage Karate in the world, the
WKF Youth Camp is one of the events that all of us Karate enthusiasts look
forward to every year. At the WKF Youth Camp, we can attest that the future
of our beloved sport is guaranteed and stronger than ever.
Many new features will be introduced in the 13th edition of the WKF Youth
Camp, starting with a new venue. As the event is getting bigger and bigger,
the anticipated 2020 Youth Camp moves now to Porec, a city which is situated
near the previous location of the camp in Umag and which offers the first-class
conditions to host such a successful and massive festival of youth Karate.
As in previous years, I am convinced that all the youngsters participating in the
event will learn the outstanding values of our sport such as respect, honour,
perseverance. I hope that all the future stars of our discipline travelling to
Porec this year will bring home unique experiences and memorable moments
of the best Karate to further build their passion for the sport. I take the
opportunity to thank the Croatian Karate Federation and its president Mr.
Davor Cipek for their support in organising once again one of the most
important events of the year. Best of luck to all the participants and organisers,
and a big “OSS” to all of you Karate fans.

Dear Competitors and Guests,
On behalf of the City of Poreč - Parenzo, I would like to thank the organizers of
this great event for selecting our city as the place where participants will find
ideal conditions to meet the goal of the Camp – to train with top-world
champions in a friendly atmosphere, and to learn about latest achievements in
the world of karate.
Thanks to a great sporting tradition, excellent sports infrastructure and
accommodation, we have already welcomed some of the most important sports
championships ever held in Croatia - World Handball Championship, European
Handball Championship, Davis Cup, world volleyball tournament Proeč Major,
World Volleyball Championship, and European Fencing Championship are just
some of them. But, it is you, the youth, which makes us happy the most. This
Camp is a continuation of our efforts to bring top sporting events to Poreč and
host them in the best possible manner.
Poreč regularly enriches a diversity of cultural programs during the season as
well as in pre and postseason and wishes to offer quality content to its citizens
and guests. It is worth pointing out that this is a city whose microclimate and
infrastructure provide excellent conditions for athletes of different profiles,
many of whom prepare for their sports competitions right in Poreč.
Poreč is a city of sports, but also a champion of tourism, a city of rich cultural
heritage, entertainment, sun and sea, excellent gastronomy. Therefore, I invite
you to take a break between training and competition, walk the streets of our
old town, discover the landmarks, enjoy our delicacies, and experience Poreč
with all your senses.
I wish you lots of sports success and good luck, and to bring beautiful and

Dear Friends,
It's my great pleasure and honor to welcome you on behalf of the
Croatian Karate Union and the Organizing Committee of the 13th
WKF Youth Training Camp. WKF Youth Training Camp, together
with WKF U12 & U21 Cup, and WKF Youth League is an event
created with joint efforts with the World Karate Federation, and I
have to express my gratitude towards the World Karate
Federation for once again recognizing us as the suitable hosts.
Also, entire karate family can be very proud because this years'
novelty is the Youth Para Karate Training Camp which will take
place on the same dates, during WKF Training Camp's sessions.
As the Camp grew, we felt responsible for meeting the needs of
the numerous karatekas, keeping the high-quality standard, and
lifting the organizational aspect even higher. That's why, after
welcoming several thousands of participants in the last couple of
years in Umag, we decided to make a change and move our Camp
to City of Poreč. For that, I thank you primarily, because you were
the ones whose growth showed us we were doing a good job and
gave us the boost to continue following our path to excellence. In
this Olympic year, which will be historic for our sport, we're looking
forward to welcoming Olympic candidates, top-world coaches, but
primarily our athletes - future karate stars and the future of the
World Karate Federation in this magnificent promotion of our
sport.
I hope all of you will enjoy your stay, be satisfied with your results,
make unforgettable memories and friendships, all that while
helping us show why Poreč is justifiably becoming the centre of
WKF.

Introduction After seven successfully
organized WKF Youth Training
Camps in Umag, Croatia, we
realized that this story exceeded
the capacities of our dear host
town. Guided by the wish of
providing even more magical
experience for our participants,
we decided to move the Camp to
Poreč - a beautiful city, not so
far away from Umag, which,
together with its natural beauty,
provides infrastructural
solutions, that can benefit this
event.
Through this bulletin, you will be
able to find out more about our
new host city, sports venues we
will be using, and a new concept
of our WKF Camp. Moreover,
you'll be able to find preliminary
schedules, registration
instructions, and in the last
pages, we will introduce our
official accommodation
solutions, which will again be
mediated in cooperation with
our partner Uniline.
The City of Poreč
The City of Poreč, located on the western coast of the Istrian
peninsula, in Istria County, Croatia, is also known as a city with a
thousand-year history. Its major landmark is the 6th-century
Euphrasian Basilica, which is today considered a true architectural
treasure and has been a UNESCO protected site since 1998. The
wider Poreč area has a population of approximately 17000
inhabitants, and its municipal area covers 142 square kilometers
with the 37 kilometers long shoreline. Mediterranean
surroundings, a gentle climate, fertile land, and lush vegetation
have made Poreč a unique and one of the most visited tourist
destinations in Croatia.
Moreover, years of experience in competitions and tournaments,
coupled with constant investment in equipping sports facilities,
have resulted in Poreč being granted the title „City of Sports.“

By Car
Travelling by car is by far the
most convenient way to reach
Istria. Roads in Istria are
excellent. The highway, called
also Istrian Ypsilon (it's shaped
as a letter Y) is a modern and fast
road, connecting Istria with a
Italian and Slovenian border, and
also with Rijeka (Croatia) to the
southeast.

It's easy to reach Istria by bus,
from Pula, Zagreb, Rijeka, and
Trieste. Buses depart throughout
the day, and more frequently

“Žatika” Sport Centre is
a multi-functional hall in
Poreč.
It was built for the needs
of 2009 World Men's
Handball Championship,
and formally opened on
21 November 2008.

WKF U12 & U21 CUP; WKF YOUTH LEAGUE
Poreč devotes special care to sport and recreation
and has a long tradition in hosting professional and
amateur athletes programs. Aside from outdoor
pitches, Poreč boasts four sports centres. The crown
jewel is Žatika Sport Centre, the newest multi-purpose
centre which has hosted many high profile sporting
events like Men's World Handball Championship and
the Davis Cup since it was built in 2008. Žatika Sport
Centre, with its 14000 square meters of total area
and 3700 spectators seats, will be a home for our own
WKF U12 and U21 Cup, and WKF Karate Youth
League.

Camp
Also, we must not forget to mention the Intersport Centre, the
second of four-leaf clover of sports centres in Poreč, where our
training camp will take place. Intersport Centre consists of two
sports halls, a sufficient number of changing rooms and
becoming spectators area, and is in the five minutes of walking
distance from every official hotel.

The program of our event consists of
four separate but interconnected parts:
WKF Youth Training Camp, Seminar for
Coaches, and WKF U12 and U21, and
Youth Para Karate Cup, together with
WKF Karate1 Youth League.

WKF Youth Training Camp – Zelena laguna resort
Youth Training Camp will be held in the Intersport Sport
Hall beginning with registration days on June 27th and
28th, and then followed by three full training days.
Participation in Youth Training Camp will be a
precondition to participating in WKF U12 Cup with an
emphasis on that participants must be present on all
training sessions during the Camp.
Also, this years' novelty is a Youth Para Karate Training
Camp, which will take place on the same dates, during
the Training Camp's sessions in Poreč.
Participants shall not be younger than 10 (ten) and older
than 20 (twenty) years, and they must be born between
5th July 1999 and 5th July 2010, including those dates.
The participation of older and younger participants will
not be allowed.

balance between the

The young participants will pay a registration fee during
official on-site registration days: Day 1 or Day 2 (27th
and 28th June), as participation fees for the 13th WKF

Seminar for coaches
This years' novelty is a seminar for coaches,
which will take place in the conference centre of
the Hotel Parentium during the Youth Training
Camp's training sessions.
Eminent world coaches and experts with world
and continental titles will present their methods
and ways of training that helped them achieve
results with their athletes.
The main goal of the seminar is the exchange of
knowledge and experience with other coaches
worldwide to gain new ideas and improve
everyone's coaching skills as a result.
The names of Youth Training Camp instructors,
as well as the speakers on the Coaches
Seminar, will be published in one of the
following bulletins. Our objective is to welcome
the Olympic candidates for Tokyo 2020 in Poreč
right before the Olympic games.

WKF U12 & U21 CUP AND WKF KARATE YOUTH LEAGUE
On-site registrations for all four events will be opened on
June 27th and June 28th in the Sport Hall Intersport
(Training Venues in Zelena Laguna Resort). Registrations
for WKF U21 Cup and WKF Youth League will be reopened
on the 1st of July, for the athletes who won't participate in
the Youth Training Camp, and then again on the 2nd July
for WKF Youth League.
Once again, we kindly remind you that the participation in
the WKF U12 Cup will not be allowed if a participant didn't
attend all of the training sessions on the Youth Training
Camp.

Registration
ONLINE REGISTRATION
WKF Youth Training Camp, WKF U12 and U21 Cup, and WKF
Youth League entries shall be submitted only via the official
online registration site which can be found on SPORTDATA link.
The deadline for online registration is June 18th. After the
deadline, the registration system will be closed, and for all
further registrations penalty of 75 CHF may be applied as it is
according to the WKF Rules.
Entries can be submitted by the participants themselves,
without the need for specific involvement of their National
Federations.
However, if there is any discrepancy with the National
Federation, it is the NF – all NFs can access real-time
registrations for an event – who should communicate to

INVITATION LETTER FOR VISA PURPOSES
Due to regulations of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs
of the Republic of Croatia, laws of the Republic of Croatia, and
guarantees Croatian Karate Union needs to provide for each
person that is entering in Croatia with a visa, Croatian Karate
Union will issue an invitation letter for visa purposes only to the
delegations that have registered their participants through online
registration system and booked the official accommodation
through our partner Uniline Travel Agency.
Once you have completed your online registration and arranged
accommodation through Uniline, please contact the Croatian

Resort ZELENA LAGUNA
Beaches at the resort Zelena Laguna
A large resort located 3 km south of Porec,
Zelena Laguna consists of many bays, small
peninsulas, over 10 km of a coastline, 8
hotels, one apartment complex, two
campsites, many bars, restaurants, and
activities. All official hotels and beaches are
within a walking distance 10-15 min without
traffic. Sports facilities for training camp are
located in the middle of the resort between the
official hotels and the beaches.
At the entrance of the resort, just before the
hotel Molindrio, there is a wake board park,
and a small beach near it. There is a story that
the ski lift park was made there with the idea
to keep moving the sea water, as the sea here
is very shallow, and the water tends to stay
still.
Next to the wake board park, there is a small
pebble beach. Beach is mostly used as an exit
point for wake-boarders. There isn't much
shade here, but there is a nice grassy area with
hammocks, sand volleyball court, as well as a
small children playground with a sand pit, and
a couple of swings. A bar with a large terrace is
a centrepiece of a wake board park. Public
toilets are available near the bar, and are free
of charge.

have to pay a deposit in the amount of 30% of the full amount.
The deposit is non-refundable, which means that Uniline will
not make refunds in case of reservation cancelation. After the
