Malcolm receives messages from his friend Arun telling him that his sister Tanisha's murderer was Azza. Malcolm flashes back to finding Tanisha dead at the hospital. He leaves class to confront Azza at the park. When Malcolm demands to know where Azza was the night before, Azza claims he was just trying to help Tanisha but she got mixed up in the fight. Enraged, Malcolm stabs Azza in the stomach. As Malcolm runs away in shock, another boy Rumel finds Azza's body and also pulls out a knife, seeking his own revenge.

2. FADE IN:
“VENGEANCE” TITLE APPEARS.
EXT.SCHOOL.DAY
A school setting is established with an out-of-focus low-
angle shot from the outside of the school building,
coming into focus.
INT.CLASSROOM.DAY
We then slowly move into the classroom, and into a shot
from the viewpoint of MALCOLM,17, who is clearly shown to
not be engaged with the teacher and the lesson that is
going on. The teacher is standing at the front of the
class by the whiteboard.
We see other students on the other side of the room, who
are working away and that the teacher seems to be faced
towards them. Malcolm however is sitting alone on the
other side of the classroom, texting on his phone with,
'Arun,' as we see with a close up shot of his phone.
Malcolm receives 2 messages from, 'Arun,' telling him
that Azza was the one who stabbed his sister, Tanisha.
The messages say, 'I found out who it was,' and, 'It was
Azza. He's at the park right now.' We switch to a close
up of Malcolm's face, using this to cut to a montage of
his flashback.
INT.HOSPITAL.DAY
Malcolm comes crashing through the Hospital double doors
and swings into the intensive care room, stopping at the
door with his right arms holding onto the wall, as he
sees two doctors removing surgical gloves covered in
blood. We can hear that Tanisha didn't make it, with the
constant beep sound from the machinery. Denise,38,
(Malcolm's mother) appears behind him. Tears are falling
down her face and we can see that she is extremely
distressed as she tries to hold off a nurse behind her.

DENISE
Let me in, I need to see my
baby...
She stops beside Malcolm puts her left hand in front of
her mouth as she cries in horror, repentance, and denial,
at witnessing the same bloody sight. She cries in denial
and slowly lowers her head to her right onto Malcolm's
shoulder, who is in shock and who as we can tell, is
finding it difficult to accept the death of his sister.
INT.CLASSROOM.DAY
Malcolm awakens from his flashback and looks at his
phone. We see that, 'Arun,' has sent a new message that
reads, 'Malcolm, what r u gonna do??' Malcolm then looks
up again, engrossed in his thoughts. He gets up from his
chair and leaves the classroom, walking past the teacher
and class, completely unaware to them. He opens the door
and closes it behind him, stopping outside and revealing
a knife from his left pocket. Filled with all kinds of
emotions, he then goes to confront Azza, who he goes to
finds at the park...
EXT.PARK.DAY
AZZA,17, is walking on the park pathway, on the phone
talking to someone.
AZZA
You better be there cuz imma be
there in a bit (pause) don't be
chatting (pause) aight, see ya.
Azza turns off his phone, and puts it in his pocket.
WE SWITCH TO AN OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT OF MALCOLM WHO
APPEARS SOME DISTANCE BEHIND AZZA.

MALCOLM
Exclaims with anger.
Azza
Azza turns to acknowledge Malcolm and realises that he
may be in danger. As a result- he suddenly becomes very
protective and tough-looking in his stature, even though
now he's quite scared and paranoid.
AZZA
Back off
MALCOLM
Having difficulty
spitting out the
words.
Where were you last night?
AZZA
Last night, what you mean?
MALCOLM
Trying to remain
calm.
Where were you last night?
AZZA
What you on about I...
MALCOLM
Exclaims with
frustration.
Answer the goddamn question Azza!
AZZA
Offended
What...you got a problem Malcolm?

5. " .4
MALCOLM
Clearly very
distraught.
Where were you last night?
AZZA
Acting all big.
Man I ain't telling you shit...
MALCOLM
Cutting in.
You killed her...didn't you...you
killed Tanisha!
(Pause)
Almost crying.
...You just don’t know when to
stop do you Azza...
Malcolm pulls out the knife quickly and points it at Azza
nervously. His arm is shaking and he keeps re-adjusting
his hold of the knife by moving his fingers up and down
the grip. Azza stepping back once seeing the knife and
putting his hands up halfway.
AZZA
Anxiously.
No...Malcolm...Malcolm, I didn’t
know man I swear, it wasn't like
that...she just got mixed up,
swear down, I ain't had nothing to
do with it
MALCOLM
Angrily Confused, but
curious.
Shut up

AZZA
Listen Malcolm look, I got word
that shit was gonna go down at
that party last night. Things
kicked off, and the next thing you
know, she's on the ground blood
everywhere...
(pause)
It wasn't her fault, she was just
trying to stop it but...i tried to
help her I...I didn't mean to, it
wasn't supposed to be her
(pause)
MALCOLM
No it wasn't...
As Malcolm says, 'wasn't,' he stabs Azza in the stomach.
We see both Malcolm's face and Azza's, as Malcolm holds
the knife in his right hand in Azza, and remains close to
him in an almost half embrace, with his head over Azza's
right shoulder and arm around Azza's waist. Malcolm then
removes the knife whilst moving away from Azza after
saying:
MALCOLM
Letting his anger out
No she wasn't...
Azza falls to the ground. Malcolm breathes heavily and
looks around as if he's realising the scale of what he's
done. He looks at the body one last time whilst taking a
few steps backwards, and then turning and running in the
other direction as fast as possible.
RUMEL,17, appears by the dead body, watching as Malcolm
runs away in the distance. Rumel then comes to look at
the body, revealing a knife out of his right pocket. We
can see that he feels angry with himself and that the
internal urge for revenge emerges as again he watches
Malcolm fade into the distance.
