2. Genre
• Our film is a thriller/horror genre. In our trailer we
will not release many indications for the plot, but it
will be based on introducing the main characters,
and showing the audience the atmosphere of the
film.
• Our trailer will be a fast montage of many short clips
of the film, and then we will edited them together in
a specific order.
3. Characters
• using masks to cover identity which creates a sense of mystery and fear. Allows us to use
more characters but the same actor, the mask allows us to not bother with make-up or
editing some ones face to make them look scary.
• In our film there will be a main star which is the victim of the trailer. The other characters
included in the scene will be masked characters. Using masked characters with their
identities not being known will create a thriller atmosphere. Creating this atmosphere in the
trailer will attract audiences to watch the whole film. By using masked characters, it allows us
to use have more characters by using the same actor, however to create more fear we will
use several actors with several masks. By using masks it will save us time in the editing
process, and in the preparation process because it will mean that time will not be wasted
before hand, as the masks do not need to be edited/made.

films, the majority of them also
have a poster to promote them in
locations, therefore for each film
that inspired us will be able to
give us a guide of how to make
our poster; some ideas will be
colour schemes, layout, font, main
image and whether we include
the release date or not.
6. Magazines
For our magazine cover, this is
where we will suffer due to the fact
that not many horror/thrillers
feature as the main cover on
magazines, therefore this restricts
us how many examples we can use.
However, we will research into this
further, and combine the many
techniques that magazines use
when promoting horror/thriller
films.
7. The types of branding we will
use for our trend between
products will be; the title, the
main image of our film (which
will be captured when filming),
the colour scheme and the
production company.

trailer go viral by putting on social media sites
such as Facebook, twitter, and instagram.
We also plan to place posters in cinemas to
promote the release, and in large cinemas
cardboard cut outs to attract new audiences.
