Need to identify key audiences for particular

     goals; then based on
     1. the actual target audiences
     2. estimates of what it will take to influence them
        current resources, and
     3.
     4. political will
     Generate quantifiable objectives and

     timelines

We need to reach allies in:

      the policymaking community
      national organizations and networks
      national media
     We need to reach organizers and activists

     across many movements on a regional basis
     We need to reach the mainstream of the

     peace movement & broadly progressive
     community to organize our base

Each channel has distinct

     objectives and needs to be
     deployed to meet those
     objectives even where
     there is the technical
     potential to do more
     Each requires a strategy to

     grow and attain objectives

      Big picture entries that exemplify our approach by
       issue, policy, solutions
      Establish our credibility and that of our approach
      Supports our fundraising from institutional and other
       sources as secondary objectives
      Note secondary tools can be used on a tactical basis:
       Videos, Webinars, Conference Calls, Live Meetings

     Website/Clearinghouse

      Needs regular updating/validation of URLs, etc.
      Broad, representative collection with appropriate
            disclaimers

       directories, etc. (Use PTP’s search engine)
      Needs regular updating/validation of URLs, etc.

     Regularly update records of key organizers

     and activists, flag as part of e-list

      Database with demographic and political information
       (elected officials & districts)
      User updatable (individual activists can access and
       update their own records
      Carefully-chosen action alerts, educational e-
       mails, opportunities for participation, including voting
       and organizing
      Tie in to existing social networking tools (Facebook
       Connect, Friend Connect, OpenID, Ning, MySpace, etc.)
     Supplementary tools for engagement include

     webinars, conference calls, webcasts, online
     fora, etc.

What it may look like & what it may do

Relative to Move-on with 13 million members

     nationally, a Massachusetts-based list would
     need about 100,000 members
     Participation in the Agenda list is not

     mutually exclusive with membership in other
     efforts
     The Agenda list will be a pool and action asks

     should expect between 10 – 20% of the pool
     to respond.

Act across a given area in a coordinated way

     Deepen its connections to local matters

     Bridge national Agenda issues with local, state

     and regional matters
     Influence decision makers by

      meeting with them
      organizing in their constituencies
      doing effective media work in the appropriate arena
     Support independent politics by connecting with

     movements and organizing actions and mass
     mobilizations

Quickly connect with other members in my

     area via an opt-in local list
     Get and add information about actions,

     events, and issues that pertain to the MAP
     Easily identify local & state government

     officials and institutions
     Invite my friends and associates to take part

     in actions and let them know more about the
     MAP

     lists, etc.) to organize local events and
     propose other activities
     Discuss MAP projects and propose new ones

     Expect a range of activities that I may choose

     to participate in

     matters impacting MAP

     Support the Agenda by reaching out to my
