Evaluation
Duringthisunit,my groupand I founditquite difficulttocome upwithan ideaand a
song.In the endwe decideditwasa good ideatodo a upbeat song.We picked‘Barbie
Girl- Aqua’. Anna,Laurenand I decidedtobase the musicvideoon Barbie asit linkswith
the song.We useda Barbie and a Ken(Harry Stylesdoll) tocreate ahappy,party themed
musicvideo.
Overall asa group,we didn’treallyhave adirector,we all chippedinandgave verygood
ideas.Laurenwasveryimaginative and came upwithgreatsuggestions.Annawasvery
productive. Annabroughtthe Harrystylesdoll andI got the Barbie froma local charity
shop.Annamissedone filminglesson,thereforeonlyLaurenandItook photos,onthe
otherhand,Lauren missedall the afterschool work,andme and Annafilmedall the
footage.Imade the stop motionpartat home withthe helpfrommydad,I really
enjoyedthisandthinkitwasreallyeffective.
As a team,we all got on reallywell andIenjoyworkingwiththe girls.Ilike tosee all our
final videosatthe end andsee how differentlywe workedwiththe footage.
We puttogethera small plan,helpingusdecide whattodo.We basedour musicvideo
at a partyabout KenandBarbie’slove life.We includedpropsandideastohelpusget
organised.
I feel the editingwentreallywell,Ilearnthow touse new effectsandIlovedplaying
withthe footage andphotosto create a partyeffect,Iusedstrobe lights,changedthe
speedanddurationas well reversingvideos.Imade sure I includedlotsof coloursand
pinkas itsbasedon a Barbie theme.Duringthe stopmotion,Iincluded lotsof colours
and pinkandthere isalso a lotgoingon to interestthe audience.The fontof the text
was a pinkBarbie font. Ialso learntandunderstoodstopmotion thatI didat home,this
will helpme make andcreate stopmotioninfuture formore unitsof work.I really
enjoyedthe stopmotion, howevergettingKenandBarbie todance wasquite difficultas
theywere verystiff.Imade a planfor mystop motion,consideringthe speed,the flow
and whathappens.Iworkedouthow many photosI needdue tothe helpof my dad.
I am reallypleasedwithmyfinal musicvideo.Ifindthe strobe lighteffectsandhow on
each beatthe pictureschange was veryeffective. Thisskillhadahuge effectonmy
video. Ifeel the footage andphotoscouldhave beenbetter qualityandbetteredited,as
I didn’thave muchtime to editeveryphotointoaBarbie theme,HoweverIdidmanage
to editsome.Ifeel Ihave gottenbetterat thisthroughoutthisunit.
I alsofeel asa group we couldof takenmore photosto helppreventrepetition.If Iwas
to do thisagain,I wouldhave more photosandfootage thenIneed,justto be safe.
Our Videowasa conceptual video,itwasbasedonBarbie’sandKen’slove life and
parties,itstarts andendson Barbie’smouthtalkingtoKen. Ilike thisideaasit almost
givesthe musicvideoastart and finish.
It isalso a little narrative too.Atthe beginningKencallsBarbie totell hertocome to a
party,she gets readywithherfriendsandgoestoa party withKen.
