NAME OF THE JOURNAL THE DEVELOPMENT OF SELF THROUGH ART : A CASE
FOR EARLY ART EDUCATION.
ISUUE 3
VOLUME 52
PAGE NO 48
1. A brief overview of the study
Children are born with a dynamic and evolving nature according to the nature of their
natural growth process. The work of visual art produced by their function as a
communication tool and a reflection on the minds of children .Early childhood education
has long been introduced in line with technological developments are now ruling at the
time .Art also has a lot of ways and methods to teach people about the world and get to
know yourself. In addition, it is also considered as the basis for childhood curriculum
early.
Through arts education, people can identify more closely with the beauty of nature with a
view of nature that we can know or see many different looks and shapes as well as
dynamic .Furthermore, early childhood education , they will also recognize the color and
lighting in addition to learning about space , shape and so on . According to
psychological researchers have long believed that children's drawings have their own
keys to understand. ( Luquet , 1927 , Piaget & Inhelder , 1956 , Goodenough , 1926 ,
Gardner, 1983 ) .
Exposure to mental structures and thought processes revealed in early childhood picture
of the painting in the form of symbols .The first painting in the tradition of early
childhood education is crucial to building knowledge in the general sense .Meanwhile ,
the second painting in the tradition of psychological rather be seen as a reflection of
nature, the biological process of development mental. However more than a collection of
general knowledge about the world, and reflects the inner state.
Arts in development plays a vital role towards the development of children through
enhancing perception, aesthetics and creativity. The goal is to produce a cultured
individual with consideration of artistic practice, creative minded, innovative and have
high self esteem. Merger of three types of art ranging from visual art, music art, and the
art of human movement will help the formation of a more holistic and comprehensive.
2. A description of the methodology
The description of the methodology of the study are through early continued art
education children can better understand who they are in the world, and what they can
accomplish in it. Based on the research, we can separate the term to four small titles.
Every term was explain about what the character of child based on different ages and
thinking.
The self in the figure is one term to explain about the child experience based on their
ages. “Seeing is defined as making in the words of art educator” Elliot Eisner
(1991).When infants start to notice the involuntary movements of their hand and feet at
around 2 months of ages. Then, they are in a sense, creating their first drawing and
appreciate the virtual image made by the circular movements. Ages of 4 or 5 months can
infants grasp in their hands and object and bang it against the floor, they are learning to
use their first drawing implement to make figure out. While, the age of 1 years, can
seeing to gives way to acting, and children begin to scribble on paper.
Then, the realism and the self can realize and understanding about art making. “The
development from global to specific rules about space in the drawings of young children
is accompanied by movement from abstraction to realism”.
(Golomra,1992,Gardner,1980). The self at this stage is tied to the understanding of
culture and the larger world. The child at 5 or 6 turns away from an inner view to an outer
view, a context dependent view of the self. Then, the first figure of the 3 years old, so
prominent and dominants, becomes a mere member of a chorus line of elements on a
ground line. At 5 and then, with the creation of multiple lines of space at around age 8 a
spectator to the larger spectacle of the world.
Space and the development of self can explain about art making. “They can do this
because they have developed an initial system of representing space on paper (Dennis,
1992 ,Bleiker,1996). Based on their ages, they can draw what their seeing, touch, others.
The child is not the whole world, but still very important part of it. The symbolic-spatial
world constructed by the child is at first global and self-centered. Then, the themes in the
understanding of self is given this culturally imposed limitation on different ways of
representing the world, children often resort to drawing and identifying with certain
themes. Themes in drawings can create and existing world of make believe.
3. An evaluation of the study
 The author examined much of the development of early childhood education in
the visual arts that have been introduced since the beginning. For children,
drawing is the most accurate way they express themselves and to communicate
with the world.
 Parents need to be concerned with the development of children who need a
chance to play in the visual eye and hand which they can make something
creative. Arts education plays a vital role towards the development of children
through enhancing perception, aesthetics, and creativity.
 The goal is to produce a cultured individual with consideration of artistic practice,
creative minded, innovative, inventive and have high self esteem. Merger of three
types of art ranging from visual art, music art and art movements will help the
formation of the human being holistic and comprehensive.
 Foster an intellectual development within the context of problem solving.
Motivate you to be a creative teacher, motivated, sensitive, balanced personality,
presentable and professional. In addition, it also helps human development in a
balanced and comprehensive in the educational process.
 In my opinion, the authors tried to highlight the early development of children in
senior visual arts education in shaping the personality of a savvy generation of
Malaysian culture, values high aesthetics, imaginative, critical, creative,
innovative and inventive.
4. A discussion of implications of the study
Bersoon , (1982) found that children using the senses and emotions in response to an
experience that is available. Through the arts, children improve their ability to make
observations and assessments. When children do such activities, the right brain and left
brain functioned.
Painting is a form of communication early childhood before they are able to speak. It
turned into an effective communication tool to interact. Drawing is an activity that can give
satisfaction to the children. Through drawing, children can express their feelings and
emotions. Besides being able to build muscle strength. These activities also help sharpen a
child’s intuition.
Drawing and to give satisfaction to the children in expressing what is seen and then
transferred back in form and appearance of a unique image on their level of understanding .
Through drawing , children can enhance the sensitivity of transmitting senses .
The development of self through art a case for early art education.

A description of the methodology The description of the methodology of the study are through early continued art education children can better understand who they are in the world, and what they can accomplish in it. Based on the research, we can separate the term to four small titles. Every term was explain about what the character of child based on different ages and thinking. The self in the figure is one term to explain about the child experience based on their ages. “Seeing is defined as making in the words of art educator” Elliot Eisner (1991).When infants start to notice the involuntary movements of their hand and feet at around 2 months of ages. Then, they are in a sense, creating their first drawing and appreciate the virtual image made by the circular movements. Ages of 4 or 5 months can infants grasp in their hands and object and bang it against the floor, they are learning to use their first drawing implement to make figure out. While, the age of 1 years, can seeing to gives way to acting, and children begin to scribble on paper. Then, the realism and the self can realize and understanding about art making. “The development from global to specific rules about space in the drawings of young children is accompanied by movement from abstraction to realism”. (Golomra,1992,Gardner,1980). The self at this stage is tied to the understanding of culture and the larger world. The child at 5 or 6 turns away from an inner view to an outer view, a context dependent view of the self. Then, the first figure of the 3 years old, so prominent and dominants, becomes a mere member of a chorus line of elements on a ground line. At 5 and then, with the creation of multiple lines of space at around age 8 a spectator to the larger spectacle of the world. Space and the development of self can explain about art making. “They can do this because they have developed an initial system of representing space on paper (Dennis, 1992 ,Bleiker,1996). Based on their ages, they can draw what their seeing, touch, others. The child is not the whole world, but still very important part of it. The symbolic-spatial world constructed by the child is at first global and self-centered.
