3. WHAT’S IT ABOUT?
- Our Documentary is about bullying.
- Main focus being on kids in High School.
- Through interviewing victims of bullying, bullies
themselves, teachers and parents, we will unveil the truth
that lies beneath the facade so many use and uncover the
real actions that are slowly damaging both the victims and
the bullies themselves, and the psychological impact and
triggers behind the reasons as to why bullying is still such
a massive issue in our society.
4. TARGET AUDIENCE
We are going to be targeting the younger generation
from 12 to 18 because our questionnaire shows us that
it is mostly under 18’s that experience bullying also we
found that when the primary school children join high
school we have to make sure they know that it will not
be accepted in high school and to also maybe help
correct their behaviour by showing them the right way to
behave and help them apply this to their daily lives.
5. GENRE
- Our film is a nonfiction piece, a documentary about bullying.
-
- A combination of performative style documentary, used to stress
subject experience and share an emotional response to the world. In
addition, poetic documentary style techniques will be incorporated
into our final piece, focusing on experiences and images. It can also
be abstract and loose with narrative, as the poetic sub-genre can be
very unconventional and experimental in both form and content. The
ultimate goal is to create a feeling that will be felt in our audience,
thereby impacting on how they deal with social issues, in all aspects
of life.
6. OUR INSPIRATION
The techniques that we feel best to incorporate into our
documentary are
- Reconstruction scenes: acting out events experienced by
victims
- Interviewing (formally) victims and their
teachers/parents/classmates
These have been inspired by techniques used in documentaries that
we have seen.
They clearly convey the combination of emotional effects of the
victim to the audience, and relay information regarding bullying
through various channels.

There have been many creations of documentaries and different types of
videos displaying the topic about bullying.
For instance, on Youtube, you can find a variety of different types of videos
that have been created about bullying. There’s countries, movies and shorter
clips about this topic.
There’s example are useful for our group because we can watch the videos
and then get some ideas from how they have been created and what we can
now do to make it unique from all the other videos.
We are going to be adding safety numbers that the bullied can call such as:
Family lives- 0808 800 2222
Childline- 0800 1111

girl as well as her group online. Her brother then hacks her social media
account and writes something horrible on her status. She then starts
talking to a stranger online who seems nice at first but that tells lies about

9. RESEARCH
Locations:
- High School
- Primary School
- Park
- House of bullying victim
We feel that it would be best to film in schools where
bullying is most likely to take place, as well as places where
children spend most of their time. Our target audience is
High School students from the ages 12- 18 so we thought
it appropriate that we center it around the school.
10. OUR AIMS
- To inspire
- To teach our target audience how impactful they are in the
way they behave and the importance of how they behave.
- To show others that it is okay to be different.
- To teach people to love themselves and accept who they are.
- To emphasise the reason why living by the phrase ‘love your
neighbour as yourself’ is so vital.
- To teach people how to deal with situations where they need
help
- To prevent bullying
- To bring about social cohesion
11. OUR AIMS #2
- We aim to make use of this video as a device
that will provide a long lasting influence/effect
on both our audience and ourselves as we hope
that our messages will help start the ripple of
events that will teach kids bullying is no joke
and that you musn’t be a bystander.
We hope to make an impact on the victims of
bullying for the better and show them that they
have so many choices when it comes to how
they deal with situations in which they are
victimized
12. BUDGET
We have created a budget in order to help keep track of all
the items we will need when filming our documentary. We
have used microsoft edexcel as it has spreadsheets which
we can store the quantitative research easily.
For instance, we have written down the equipment we would
need to record the video such as a camera, tripod and
microphone. Also, we have included prices for transport as
we may need to use different transports such as a bus or
train which we would need to pay for the travel to get to
certain locations that may be far from one another.
Our budget for this is six thousand pounds.

as we will mainly be targeting the younger generation but the video can also be
watched by all ages so everyone can understand raise an awareness about the topic.
We hope our video will encourage students to come forward as well as parents to
get more involved with the behaviour of their children.
Our video will give you an opportunity to see the struggle and the options you can
have in a strained situation. We show you the consequences of bullying and the
consequences it can lead to for the victims and how it affects those around or
experiencing the bullying.
