Graduation Day: May 21, 1998
Graduating Seniors: 82
2. To the Class of 1998:
As you grow older, you will realize that life is full of stages. Your graduation marks one of those
stages in your life and it is my hope that it has been one of your best and happiest.
I have very much enjoyed being your sponsor. The chili feeds at homecoming, candy bar fund
raisers, working hard on junior prom, the senior cakewalk government lesson, and senior trip (with an
unexpected late night dip in the pool) will always live in my memories for one reason...you!
Congratulations and best of luck in all the remaining stages of your life. May the next stage
always be your best and happiest.
Carolyn Barr
Class Sponsor
To the Class of 1998:
You have been a great class to sponsor. Though I have only been here for one year and missed
out on the other three, I really enjoyed the year and felt as if I had been here for all four. Your class is a
real cohesive class who worked well together to achieve what was necessary, all with a touch of class.
The best example was the way you as a class worked together for the tradition of the cakewalk. Your
class followed the correct process to voice your concerns of keeping the tradition alive and were reward-
ed with the opportunity to do so.
You have learned a lot in your high school careers, take what you have learned and continue to
apply it to the rest of your lives. You have reached a plateau in your lives, but do not be satisfied be-
cause inside each of you is a success story waiting to happen and when someone mentions Girard High
School, I hope that you will turn with a smile beaming full of pride and reply, “I graduated from there.”
