2. The txalaparta:
The txalaparta is a percussion instrument, traditional of the Basque Country.
It has traditionally been relationated to the world of cider and farmhouse.
3. Characteristics:
● Generally it consists of two supports ( baskets, chairs… )
● Above these supports, some insulating material like wool or dry grass
● At the top a board that is hitten with four sticks ( two each txalapartari )
● Although Txalaparta traditionally had two or three tables, it’s common
to find Txalapartas formed by 12 tables.
4. More about it:
● It was played at weddings, dinners...
● It was used to entertain people and to make festive music.
● Is something special that usually the pairs who played this instrument
were brothers.
