1. The fire of galicia
Every summer the fires in the Galician mountains
are unfortunately common. 2017 was particularly
critical for many families who lived in the most
rural areas of Galicia, and even in some cities. Up
to 200 active fires were registered that fateful
weekend of October 16, becoming the worst wave
of fires of the last decade.
The videos of people crossing roads surrounded
by fire, or fleeing their homes about to be
devoured by the flames shook the entire country.
It was never shown that the fires were human,
but unfortunately the Galician mountains are still
a clear target for arsonists.
