This document compares and contrasts the stories of Ali Baba and Aladdin. Some similarities include that both are Arabian tales that involve the 40 thieves. A difference is that the main characters are very different - Ali Baba is shy and stays home, while Aladdin is outgoing and social. Through comparing the stories, the author realized they have some connections despite differences, and learned tales can vary in their similarities and differences.
1. Compare And Contrast
By: Lauren MARTIN
I
n class my teacher read to us the tale Ali Baba& we
saw the movie Aladdin. I noticed that there were
many similarities but, man differences also. First I’m
going to tell you about some similarities.
One similarity between these two are that they both
are Arabian tales. Another Similarity , is that they
both mainly mostly talk about the 40 thieves.
Another similarity between these are that I really
don’t like to read these kind of stories because mainly
I think there boring and not interesting. But for the
first time, I kind of like these stories like there getting
more and more interesting as you read more tales
kind of like it.
Now lets talk about some differences. Okay I think
that one difference is that between the book and the
movie for me is that they really don’t connect. Like
they relate but, in alout ways they don’t too. For
example: the main characters don’t even connect.
Ali Baba and Aladdin are nothing alike !!!!!!!Ali Baba
is more of a shy trickster type of guy who like, never
talks and always stays in his house all day. Aladdin is
always somewhere where you can see him and he’s
2. always talking to people. No matter what in the
movie it will show him and in the tale Ali Baba, it
never talks about him ever really comeing out of his
house.
So basically, I really listed some similarities and both
differences. These kinds of tales tell you that These
stories won’t always have similarities or differences. I
learned that they won’t always be the same. {which Ii
thought that they were} But when you take time to
really look at a tale you can really see differences.
So too the introduction… I kept similarities and
differences in my head. I kind of in my mind thought
some differences and similarities watching the movie.
I put them side by side and just compared.
Something new that’s accrued from the comparison is
that….. I realized is the tales both kind of ring a bell
someone well you watch talk about the movie. I am
not sure why this happens but it just does. Tthis is the
end of my comparisons.
