The 7 Things I Know About Cyber Security After 25 Years | April 2024
Vsti metallic clash annotation
1. To create this sound I used the ‘thunder’
VSTI plugin. I used this instrument to create
this sound because I wanted to make a loud,
relatively short sound. The result is a
metallic, relatively neutral sound that could
be used for a variety of effects, such as the
sound of a heavy, solid metal colliding with
another metal body.
I made a few adjustments to the ‘thunder’
instrument to create a sound closer to what I
envisioned. Decreasing time and increasing speed
produced the same volume of sound in a shorter
time frame, creating a more sudden effect. I
turned off the reverb effect as I feel that it
reduced the effect of the sound being sudden.
I used this sequence in the MIDI item to produce the
sound. Reducing the amount of sound occurring over
a short period of time gives the sound an amount of
depth, as there is the ‘impact’ and then the sound of
the impacted object vibrating just after the initial
collision.
