Editor's Notes
“ Utopia” is a word borrowed from Greek by Sir Thomas More (1516). One man’s poison is another man’s meat; is utopia theoretically possible? – C.f. Brave New World - ingrained in the people that their social class is best place for them. Dystopian literature can sometimes include zombie fiction, such as I Am Legend (Richard Matheson, 1954). But zombie fiction sometimes subsumed under Horror.
The famous works of Dystopian Literature.
Librarian’s comment: This is like Masters and Commanders (Patrick O’Brien) meets Waterworld (1995 film).
Most horror novels have a certain overlap with thrillers; e.g. The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon by Stephen King. His books instills fear and is very thrilling, sometimes without paranormal activity at all. However there are some horror novels that are not thrilling, such as The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman.
