One of the most difficult jobs for law enforcement will have to be in the state area.
Due to the high crime rate, the city of Trenton has always had hard time getting
someone that will lead the police department. For the past four or five years, six
police director has stepped down. Ralph Rivera Jr. who is the current police
director and also celebrating hi one year anniversary today say that the crime rate
in the state is lower even with the shortage of police officer. When he inherited the
title of police officer, it was no small task. With the police department undergoing
a major layoff he was put in a very difficult position. “You had a department that
approximately three years ago was at 375 officers. When I arrived there last year,
they were down to 229 not counting,” Rivera said.

2. Rivera when as far to say that the crime rate has goes down about 10 percent, since
he took the position. Rivera “Over the last 10 years, we’ve been averaging about
3300 crimes a year,” he said. “We’re still averaging that now actually 10 percent
lower as of April right now with 146 less officers.”

With the summer approaching, contractor is doing all they can do to restore the
boardwalk. “It’s something you kind of take for granted. You walk on the
boardwalk every single day, then all of a sudden it’s not here, and here we are just
about 50 plus days to the season and we’re up here on the boardwalk again,” said
Seaside Heights Mayor Bill Akers.Contractors in Seaside Heights are building the
boardwalk to super storm sandy. The boardwalk stretches about tree-quarter and
about 15 blocks long. 50 of the project have been reconstructed and contractors are
saying that the whole project will be done before memoir day. It will allow new
business owners to reopen before the big holiday.

After the discovering of a 62 year old lady dead in her car that was towed, all her
family member could feel was anger, sad, and grieving.
"We were wondering where she was, and she was in the car the whole time," said
Algernon Parker, 42, Watkins' son.
"Even if it was a dog, that would be bad, but you know, I mean, a human? Come
on now. You don't even want to leave your dog in the car for 2 to 3 hours."
Her body was found in a wreck car at the tow yard on Monday, she was also
reported missing on the same day. After state trooper discovers her car in the ditch
in Johnston country, North Carolina, the trooper stated that why looking in the car
he didn’t see any passenger. That report has since been called into question, and
authorities said they are working to get to the bottom of the case.

Rapper Rick Ross is under a lot of fire due to his lyrics in the song "U.O.E.N.O".
Since the release of the song, social media have been going crazy. Many are
criticizing the rapper for endorsing rape toward women. In the song he stated
“Put molly all in her champagne, she ain't even know it. I took her home and I
enjoyed that, she ain't even knowing it.”
The rapper as come out and apologize on twitter saying “I don’t condone rape”
A spokeswoman for Ultraviolet, a women's rights group that led Thursday's protest
said "We are asking Reebok to drop their endorsement deal with Rick Ross," said
Shawna Thompson. "The reason we are asking them to do is because Rick Ross
recently rapped, bragging essentially, about drugging and raping women. We see
this as an opportunity to elevate the fact that it's not OK to do that, and he shouldn't
benefit from endorsement deals when he has rap lyrics like that."

On Wednesday morning, there was a collapsed of aneight-story building in
Bangladesh. Were several garment factories are home. In the collapsed 87 people
were killed and leaving hundreds more injuring, and leaving an unknown number
of people trapped in the rubble, according to Bangladeshi officials and media
outlets.

Fighting was reported elsewhere in Syria on Wednesday including a town east of
Damascus that insurgents had regarded as strategically important because it was a
way station for their weapons and food. Activists reached by telephone and Skype
confirmed a Reuters report that government forces had seized the town, Otaiba,

security officers and “gangsters,” according to a propaganda bureau spokeswoman
for the regional government of Xinjiang, where the conflict took place.
The spokeswoman “The death toll was the highest reported in Xinjiang in many
months, despite the fact that violence in the region, a vast western territory with
many ethnicities, has been relatively common there in recent years. The violence
has sometimes been rooted in ethnic conflict, particularly between ethnic Uighurs
