● Avoid hotel laundry services: guest’s
clothes are washed separately, hence water
intensive

● Swap shampoo bottles for shampoo bars &
keep dry on loofah rounds. When travelling
use a tin & loofah.
● Swap disposable razors for safety razors &
stainless steel blades. Store in a tin &
recycle when done.
● Swap plastic toothbrushes & commercial
toothpaste with bamboo toothbrushes & all
natural toothpaste to avoid plastic
packaging and toxic ingredients such as SLS
& microplastics
● Swap plastic floss with compostable vegan
floss. Use refills to avoid excessive
packaging
● Swap mouthwash bottles to mouthwash
tablets, perfect for traveling or at the
office
● Swap plastic moisturizer tubs for a solid
body butter bar or body oils
● Swap shower gel for soap bars or refillable
liquid body wash & face wash for face soap
● Swap eye-make up remover bottles & single
use pads with a gentle face oil & reusable
squares or wash cloth
● Swap plastic deodorant with all natural &
compostable deo-sticks
● Swap toxic sunscreen with ocean safe
sunscreen in recyclable packaging & no

● Look out for hidden plastics in products
such as gum, plasters, face scrubs &
cosmetics
● Avoid greenwashing by looking for certified
labels such as Natrue, COSMOS or EcoCert.
For smaller brands that can't afford to
undergo the certification process, look at
their brand mission statement and the
transparency of their website.

● Start where you are: stop buying for a second
and analyse your clothing
● Organize your wardrobe in order to access it
easily.
● Maximize it: Discover new ways to wear 100% of
your wardrobe.
● Select one piece of clothing and find out what
are the possibilities with it
● Select 5 - 7 items and try to combine them
together.
● - Take care of your clothes:
○ - Wash in cold water and don't use the
dryer.
● - Repair and Upcycle
○ - Repair: little changes like replacing a
button or a zipper.

the garment.

○ - Swapping is a better option: exchanging
your clothes with a friend.
● - Shopping comes last: try to keep
your clothes inside the loop for longer and
before buying new items make sure you really
need it!
